The Development Manager will serve as an important member of the development team, working to identify, cultivate and steward donors, manage in-kind gifts, manage volunteers and work collaboratively to provide insight and expertise as a member for the Glenwood Academy Development Team. Reporting to the Vice President of Development this position will have a vital role in efforts to ensure that Glenwood Academy continues our historic longevity to change the lives of those who need us the most.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assists with prospect research and helps maintain all individual and organizational records, inputting and updating biographical, geographical, professional, financial, and other information. 
  • Manage a small portfolio of individual donors, create and implement individualized solicitation, cultivation and stewardship plans, grow prospect lists, and increase donor base. 
  • Partner with Development team to support fundraising strategies, campaign plans and initiatives 
  • Work with VP of Development to manage the Glenwood Academy Chicago Marathon team. Tasks include, but are not limited to, recruitment of team members (10 - 15 max), ongoing communications and support with team members, monthly newsletters, fundraising guidance, and day-of-marathon execution. 
  • Create donor cultivation opportunities and assist in planning stewardship events. 
  • Recruit, manage, and maintain current and new Glenwood Academy volunteers. 
  • In-kind donation management and coordination with both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Assists with Development Office tasks, reporting, events, and other tasks as needed. 
  • Provide database assistance as needed for the Director of Data Administration.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of working experience, preferably with nonprofits 
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office preferred 
  • Experience working in RaisersEdge is a plus, some CRM experience required 
  • Highly organized, multi-tasker, and problem-solver 
  • Superb attention to detail 
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and data and/or willing to take additional training in Excel or other productivity tools 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
  • Commits to maintaining strict confidentiality in regard to all files and personnel that they come in contact with during this role 
  • Employees of Glenwood Academy must be fully vaccinated against Covid.

Salary: $55,000 - $60,000
