The Development Officer, Affiliated Organizations has management oversight for several affiliated organizations of Lurie Children’s: The Lurie Children’s Service Board, Junior Council, Northwest Suburban Guild, Youth Service Association, and Lurie Children’s Research Foundation. The Development Officer, Affiliated Organizations is responsible for organizing the annual programs and fundraising activities of these groups, including special events, Lead Annual gifts and Annual Gifts. The Development Officer, Affiliated Organizations consults and stewards fundraising volunteers to make their programs as successful as possible in terms of dollars raised, community exposure, and good will gained for the Medical Center.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Execute the recruitment, retention, customer service, and event experience strategy for assigned fundraising events aimed at developing and continuing donor support for the Foundation's current fundraising initiatives. 
  2. Assist in the creation and management of annual budgets, ensuring an appropriate cost per dollar raised for each fundraising event. 
  3. Set event goals, timelines, strategies and objectives with Foundation leadership and assigned volunteer fundraising groups. 
  4. Develop/oversee processes to track event participation and communication. Provide on-site management at events by working with location representatives, vendors and staff to execute successful events. 
  5. Evaluate the effectiveness of Lurie Children’s events in communicating key messages to targeted constituents through an on going analysis process. 
  6. Develop and implement, in conjunction with Lurie Children’s Marketing Department, brand and marketing guidelines for all fundraising events.
  7. Collaborate with other Community Engagement team members to assist with strategy, recruitment, logistics, and participant management. 
  8. Serve as the key staff representative for assigned volunteer fundraising groups. 
  9. Work with corporate giving team on corporate team and sponsor solicitation and engagement strategies. 
  10. Work with major giving team on additional engagement and key volunteer management strategies.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (Required)
