Outreach is hiring a full-time entry-level Development Officer at Outreach Central Office in Carol Stream to expand our donor base and support fundraising efforts across programs and locations. This entry-level position focuses on identifying and cultivating individual and business donors, especially in new or underrepresented communities, and plays a key role in supporting agency-wide events and resource development.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit new individual and business donors in target communities (e.g., Elmhurst, Downers Grove, South Barrington, etc.).
  • Raise entry-level gifts up to $5,000, including Partner and Leadership level donations.
  • Support donor engagement and stewardship to strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Represent Outreach at public events, business meetings, and networking functions.
  • Participate in planning and execution of major fundraising events (e.g., Gala, Women’s Luncheon).
  • Assist with donor follow-up and event-related communications.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data entry following Outreach Data Standards.
  • Collaborate with the data team to ensure donor records and reporting accuracy.
  • Travel regularly to community events; evening and weekend availability required.
  • Contribute to organizational meetings, training, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience in fundraising, sales, community engagement, or nonprofit development may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a nonprofit, fundraising, community engagement, or related setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident networker and relationship builder.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and donor databases is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and availability to travel throughout the Chicago suburbs required.
  • A commitment to Outreach’s Statement of Mission and Faith is required.
