Digital Analytics Analyst

Job Description:

Analyze digital analytics data from disparate sources to produce business strategic analysis, dashboards, and recommendations on our properties. Define and execute tagging where appropriate to capture data. Provide analytics support for Ameriprise Financial broker-dealer, insurance and annuities, and asset management interactive teams.


  • Analyze digital, client, and advertising data to generate actionable recommendations to optimize digital capabilities and advertising. Partner with the digital team and key business partners to identify and understand opportunity areas to drive analyses. 
  • Design and develop recurring or one-time reports and dashboards to help support business decision making and solve moderately complex problems. Leverage both quantitative and qualitative metrics to generate reports. Synthesize the data from disparate sources to share key findings with the appropriate stakeholders. 
  • Work closely with internal business partners to review the findings and determine issues, developing trends, or areas to investigate further. Pro-actively identify opportunities for improvement in user experience and effectiveness, incorporating company knowledge and applying mathematical and technological expertise. 
  • Define tagging requirements and/or execute tagging to ensure appropriate data capture to drive accurate measurement. Re-mediate data issues through tagging to ensure quality of data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent. 
  • 1-3 years of experience conducting analyses of digital data using modern analytics tools and skills. 
  • Good analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills and ability to apply basic statistical analysis and modeling. 
  • Strong relationship & communication skills in working with colleagues and business partners. 
  • Basic knowledge of company products/services and marketing strategies that is generally learned on the job. 
  • Good ability to build strong relationships with business partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree focus in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related field 
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics, Analysis Workspace, and DTM (Dynamic Tag Management) or similar tool such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, Webtrends, or similar tool. 
  • Technical understanding of analytics tagging and implementation. Limited understanding of html and javascript.
