Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President, the Digital Communications Specialist will provide strategic and tactical digital and social media design and development of materials that will contribute to the overall enrollment marketing strategy. Additionally, the Digital Communications Specialist will, as needed, provide support to the Graphic Designer. The Digital Communications Specialist is a key member of a high-performing enrollment marketing team who will share RFU’s story with prospective and admitted students, pre-health advisors and influencers, and community and professional organizations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, manage, and proof original content across RFU’s digital enrollment marketing platforms. 
  • Inform and support RFU’s enrollment marketing strategy as it applies to social media and web content to build engagement, brand awareness, and support student recruitment efforts. 
  • Manage the day-to-day updating, maintenance, engagement, and continuity of defined social media communities. 
  • Collaborate with enrollment marketing team to establish deadlines, obtain program direction, gather assets, and provide proofs from conception to completion. 
  • Identify and evaluate new digital technologies and utilize resources to implement digital strategies, as necessary. 
  • Assist in the establishment of new content channels on emerging platforms. 
  • Ensure marketing materials visually comply with RFU mission and brand standards. 
  • Create marketing materials with a high degree of creativity to meet brand strategy standards. 
  • Monitor analytics, trends, and activity across digital and social media platforms—and make recommendations for placement and improvement. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must achieve background check clearance. 
  • Must have proof of COVID19 vaccination or a university-approved exemption.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, social media, communications, advertising, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years developing or managing organic social media campaigns and calendars. 
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok) including understanding platform functionality and target audiences. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software including design, photoshop, illustrator, and acrobat. 
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Certifications in Google Analytics, website accessibility, or other related knowledge areas. 
  • Graphic design experience. 
  • HTML/CSS project experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in digital/social media, communications, business, or project management. 
  • Familiarity with XML, Photoshop, WordPress, or related technologies. 
  • Experience with the Slate CRM communications module. 
  • Prior work in graduate admissions or the health professions. 
  • Knowledge of RFU’s academic programs, distinguishing features, and brand identity.
