WHA is seeking an experienced candidate for a full-time position of digital communications manager, reporting to the vice president, communications. With input and direction from WHA’s vice president of communications and other senior leaders, this position is responsible for planning, executing and tracking digital communications strategies across WHA’s owned digital channels, including social media. As part of a highly collaborative team, the digital communications manager will distill complex information and develop effective, on-brand communications (social media campaigns, infographics, videos, etc.) to engage and grow WHA audiences and support the association’s goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage WHA’s social media channels (currently Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) in fulfillment of audience segmentation and communications objectives, advancing WHA initiatives and priorities while promoting member outcomes. 
  • Design infographics and other supporting visuals to support key WHA messages across all digital communications channels, including presentations and WHA’s various websites.
  • Support association-wide web development projects, assist with management of webpages related to areas of responsibility and manage website metrics initiatives. 
  • Participate in planning and executing association-wide, multi-platform initiatives and events to ensure maximum exposure among target audiences. 
  • Provide and/or coordinate photography and videography services for WHA events and other promotional opportunities. 
  • Edit WHA-generated videos and/or supplied footage to for use on WHA digital platforms.
  • Track WHA and industry news using media monitoring service. Circulate topical stories as they appear to WHA senior staff. Compile and distribute weekly news roundup newsletter for members. 
  • Assist in cataloguing and archiving WHA digital assets for future reference/use. 
  • Track and measure reach and engagement data related to WHA digital communications.
  • Research and recommend new tools and technologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness of WHA communications. 
  • Research and report on topics related to WHA communications priorities as requested.

The digital communications manager should have a bachelor’s degree in a marketing-related or communications field and should possess the following:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing digital communications, including social media management;
  • Website management and search engine optimization experience; 
  • Proficient photography and videography capabilities desired; 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite design and video editing software desired; 
  • Experience tracking and measuring digital communications initiatives.
