Position Details

Digital Communications Specialist
Northern Illinois
Lake Forest, IL


Responsible for managing messaging execution in the CRM system used by the business units. Candidate will work with the business unit marketing teams to understand their marketing strategies and support the setup and execution of campaigns in the system, manage connections to other systems and tools, and ensure data is being leveraged consistently across businesses to generate leads and awareness.


Digital Messaging and Engagement

  • Build and maintain automations in Marketing Cloud for multiple business units 
  • Create campaign schedules in conjunction with business unit marketing teams 
  • Manage and monitor FTP files with appropriate teams 
  • Develop processes to track member lists and campaigns to ensure appropriate messaging occurs. 
  • Review campaigns stats and provide recommendations for driving engagement to each business unit 
  • Set up connections between the CRM and other tools/systems as needed 
  • Liaison with the Enterprise data and analytics team 
  • Prepare reports representing digital engagement activities for business units 
  • Meet with business unit teams regularly to communicate best practices and provide updates 
  • Investigate trends in consumer engagement techniques and assist in development of advancement of digital products/strategies. 
  • Stay up to date with latest technologies, changes, and roadmaps within CRM system 
  • Brainstorm ideas and implement measures to improve digital engagement acceptance rates with customers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communication field or equivalent experience. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in a customer facing communications role, or equivalent 
  • Intermediate proficiency with HTML, SQL, and AmpScript 
  • Intermediate experience with Mobile Studio – SMS 
  • Expertise using CRM systems, like Dynamics or Salesforce 
  • General API integration knowledge 
  • Understand how domains are configured for email sending 
  • Experience serving in a customer facing role. 
  • Proven ability to build relationships with multiple individuals and functions and quickly establish credibility. 
  • Superior written, verbal, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate and manage projects in a deadline-sensitive environment. 
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. 
  • Must have very strong proficiency with commonly used databases, spreadsheets and word processing software [MS Office, Excel and Word].


  • Knowledge of healthcare, benefits, insurance industry, and customer experience principals. 
  • Health care experience with payer, provider, PBM or analytics vendor a plus.
