Job Purpose:

As a creative and collaborative professional with exceptional writing skills, you develop engaging content for digital channels and build email campaigns, web pages, and other digital assets to support AHS marketing and fundraising initiatives.

What you will be doing:

  • Strategy – Support digital marketing and fundraising strategies that advance organizational goals and initiatives. Develop compelling content for all digital channels. Build, send, and analyze email campaigns. Build and optimize digital assets, including web pages, donation forms, and surveys. 
  • Support – Assist in determining the design, content, and organization of online channels in alignment with the organization’s broader initiatives. Maintain organizational data. Monitor trends, analyze and report on the effectiveness of strategies. Champion the AHS brand and high-quality user experiences. 
  • Customer Service – Provide exceptional customer service to online constituents. 
  • Communication – Ensure communication is consistent with brand standards and organizational messaging. Listen, pay attention, and be a responsible steward of information. 
  • Culture – Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS’s behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Champion a culture of safety and promote meaningful volunteer engagement. 
  • Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:

  • Experience & Computer Skills – 3+ years of experience developing engaging content for digital channels. Expertise with email marketing and content management systems. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office, HTML, CSS, and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of Blackbaud products and CMS and CRM administration. 
  • Adaptability – Ability to work in a professional and positive manner with high attention to detail in a variety of situations and the willingness to assist other departments.
  • Communication – Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills. Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments. 
  • Emotional Capabilities – Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the humane use of euthanasia. Must have a high level of resiliency. 
  • Schedule – Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during administrative operations hours as defined by leadership with flexibility to work an occasional evening or weekend shift.
