We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Digital Content Specialist on our Professional Satisfaction / Practice Sustainability team. As a Digital Content Specialist you will build and produce digital content for the AMA STEPS Forward™ program to meet organizational initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content

  • Oversee daily content updates and assists with writing copy for web landing pages 
  • Assist on PS2 digital content projects including content AMA microsites and platforms
  • Produce and populate page templates in the content management system, uploads and posts website content and ensures content is up-to-date and accurate 
  • Responsible for cross checking, quality assurance and version control on website content and other microsites 
  • Support search engine optimization, digital marketing conversion efforts, web analytics and other tasks and projects as assigned

Editing and Writing Copy

  • Edit website copy 
  • Refining headlines, perform some substantive or light editing and or proof reading, check links and overall site consistency 
  • Assist in editing guidelines for the team 
  • Review content assets for brand consistency, accurateness, voice and tone, and audience targeting 
  • Assists with writing copy, producing and minor editing of content for videos, podcast, social media, and promotional kits

May include other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or related Communications discipline required, with concentration in digital writing/editing, marketing and digital content publishing strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with content publishing, writing and editing for the web, and content management required. Must have strong editorial skills and content publishing experience or experience with publishing content in a comparable enterprise content management system. CMS experience; Drupal CMS environment knowledge strongly preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of content strategy, search engine optimization, digital marketing, content design and UX principles and technical skills of working within a content management system. 
  • Proficient with Google Analytics, social platforms, HTML, Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Ability to think conceptually and create cross-links with related content across the website and familiarly with print and digital communications integration. 
  • Demonstrated experience upholding brand standards and editing to AP style. 
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, i.e. creative directors, copywriters, production managers, photographers, social media managers, business stakeholders, etc.
  • Ability to work in changing, fast-paced environment with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, versatile and creative professional with excellent organizational skills. 
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
