This Digital Content Specialist is responsible for supporting the strategic vision, design, implementation, and maintenance of WECA’s digital presence across multiple programs and platforms. The position implements digital marketing strategies as a member of the Communications Team with the goal of enhancing and broadening WECA’s presence and reputation as a well-respected state nonprofit organization.

Must reside in the state of Wisconsin to be considered for this position. This is a remote position where you will be working from your home office and going out into the community as needed and occasionally into the main office located in Fitchburg, WI.

Experience and or knowledge of early childcare and education is a plus.

Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 is required for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports the execution of the annual Communications & Outreach plan that contains strategies for growing agency’s network of donors/partners and promoting the agency’s programs, initiatives, advocacy efforts, and news to the public and key partners through various channels including website, social media, and more. 
  • Collaborates with agency leadership and program directors as a member of the Communications Team to develop and execute digital communication strategies that broaden awareness of WECA, its programs, and impact. 
  • Produces and executes the agency’s digital communications, including the WECA and Raising Wisconsin websites, blog, WECA and Raising Wisconsin social media, all e-newsletters, videos, digital advertising, and more. 
  • Schedules and posts all content for agency’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube). Helps research and implement social media best practices. 
  • Serves as WECA’s videographer by recording, editing, and producing high-quality, impactful videos to supplement and enhance marketing campaigns and strategies. 
  • Maintains WECA and Raising Wisconsin websites to ensure content is up to date and relevant while incorporating best practices, including SEO. 
  • Handles website CMS, analyzes Google Analytics/Adwords account data, CTRs, and other data points from all email marketing platforms/campaigns for use in future best practices. 
  • Develops, maintains, and manages email database lists in collaboration with data analyst and program directors for use in regular email communications and other marketing campaigns. 
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Education & Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in a fast-paced nonprofit or public sector environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently as well as perform well in a team environment. Strong time-management skills and ability to maintain confidential information is essential. 
  • High proficiency with and knowledge of standard marketing and communications platforms, including Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms and management tools, email marketing, Microsoft Office, CMS website platforms, survey tools, CRM, among others. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and produce high-quality work under consistent deadline pressure. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to identify needs, and contribute to creative solutions. 
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of early care and education is a plus. 
  • Travel may be required for this position.
