Boston Scientific is looking for a dynamic Digital Content Strategist to join our team and spearhead content strategy for the Endoluminal Surgery (ELS) franchise within the Endoscopy business. As a key player in this role, you will drive content planning and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to deliver a cohesive end-to-end customer experience tailored for Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).

Your responsibilities will encompass creating valuable and relevant content, overseeing planning exercises, and collaborating closely with digital strategists, content creators, and the creative teams. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our content aligns with digital marketing tactics and key performance indicators (KPIs). Working hand-in-hand with the digital marketing analyst, you will report on performance and optimize strategies based on market needs. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in digital content strategy and execution, a strong understanding of user research and business objectives, and a collaborative mindset.

This opportunity is open to remote work for candidates residing beyond a commutable distance from our Marlborough, MA, or Arden Hills/Maple Grove, MN offices. Candidates within a commutable distance to an office location will follow a hybrid schedule.

Candidates will be asked to provide a portfolio (content strategy, planning process, and end results/output) as part of the interview process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Refine segmentation and targeting, as well as key points of differentiation and reasons to believe, in collaboration with the product marketing team. 
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to gain consensus on program strategy, target audience, and objectives. 
  • Lead and own the development of a customer-centric content strategy for key audience segments based on user research and customer personas. 
  • Develop customer journey maps in collaboration with the Digital Strategist. 
  • Create segmented and personalized content marketing plans aligned with the customer journey. 
  • Collaborate with strategic copywriters to create a directional messaging framework and pillars. 
  • Develop a proposed high-level budget for content creation. 
  • Author creative briefs and lead kickoffs for designers, agencies, copywriters, and the execution team. 
  • Generate ideas independently and with team members to transform scientific and medical information and data into engaging content (e.g. whitepapers, infographics, videos) that meets business objectives and KPIs, including peer-to-peer engagement and demand generation. 
  • Transform existing content into new opportunities across digital channels. 
  • Plan, document, and maintain content guidelines while educating others on best practices and trends for campaigns. 
  • Collaborate with UX, visual design, and digital production teams to consistently review site structures and nomenclature, ensuring the most intuitive presentation of content for our customers. 
  • Work alongside analytics resources and the sales operations team to test content types, creative approaches, etc., to demonstrate the value of content marketing and provide regular reports. 
  • Build, activate, and manage cross-functional relationships with marketing and communications, digital, analytics, UX/design, MarTech, IT, and others as required. 
  • Assume a thought-leader role by sharing knowledge and best practices with both internal and external teams. 
  • Continually identify ways to innovate content creation and distribution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or other relevant area of study. 
  • 5+ years of content strategy experience preferably in an agency or regulated pharma, biotech or healthcare environment 
  • Experience planning and executing content marketing programs that align to the customer online purchasing journey. 
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or another relevant area of study. 
  • Experience in planning and executing content marketing programs that align with the customer's online purchasing journey. 
  • Strong understanding of search engine optimization and user experience. 
  • An independent, self-starter who can effectively manage time and projects to meet deliverable deadlines. 
  • Experience in driving content projects from conception through production and optimization. 
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail. 
  • Effective interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
