Digital Graphic Designer

Position Purpose

Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “Doing the Right Thing” by implementing strategies to promote the overall image and brand of the credit union and its products and services. Primary responsibilities will include designing ads for both traditional and digital channels, marketing collateral and signage; providing ideas for campaigns and content; coordinating campaign and other communication assets; communicating with our agency partners, employees and members; assisting with events and charitable activities; and looking for opportunities that promote the Credit Union philosophy.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating both traditional and digital marketing design, video and motion graphics for Capital Credit Union web pages, digital/mobile advertising, email, social, and in-branch experience. 
  • Create, maintain, update, and evolve digital channel templates and code for use by the design and digital teams. 
  • Troubleshoot issues in file creation or code for digital media. 
  • Responsible for the execution of multichannel graphic design, including print. 
  • Conceptualize original digital marketing design ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness. 
  • Collaborate with Brand, Digital, Community Relations, and Web Development teams to conceptualize creative that is on strategy. 
  • Present ideas, concepts, and design to integrated campaign team and key stakeholders. Seek and provide constructive feedback. 
  • Lead digital innovation through emerging media, such as animation or video. 
  • Partner with Brand and Digital team to conduct A/B testing to address design, and functionality (to ensure it is not only visually appealing, but it also optimizes for conversion). 
  • Track industry trends, competitors, methods, and techniques in emerging digital technology. Make recommendations to team. 
  • Be an advocate for innovative and creative design and strive to continually improve our capabilities. 
  • Document digital process and standards and mentor/knowledge share with graphic design team executing in digital channels. 
  • Partner and collaborate effectively within the Marketing department, and with other business units in the organization. 
  • Support continuous process improvements for the department and projects, through effective collaboration, documentation, and communication. 
  • Coordinate with marketing team on production schedule, technical execution, file delivery, approving vendor proofs. 
  • Maintain positive, constructive relationships with vendors. 
  • Keeps up-to-date on digital and print design trends and best practices and tactics. 
  • In addition to the primary duties, may assist the department in various other duties including, but not limited to, researching projects, special event participation and planning, such as grand openings or new product launches, and overall branding functions.
  • Limited travel required to various branches, meetings, seminars, and conferences.

Necessary Experience and Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Web and/or Graphic Design or related field required. Bachelor’s degree a plus. 
  • 2+ years of Web & Digital Design experience a plus 
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS. 
  • Experience with Javascript and ASP.NET a plus. 
  • Experience in responsive design for multiple devices. Proficiency in user experience principles. 
  • Expert knowledge in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premier Pro. 
  • Experience in motion graphics, animation, and video production, 
  • Experience in responsive email design and platforms, social platforms, blog tools, digital publishing platforms, content management systems (CMS), and A/B testing platforms. 
  • Knowledge of industry standards for digital channels. 
  • Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process. 
  • Expert knowledge in print and digital production and file preparation. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Products including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point. 
  • Experience using project management software and digital a plus. 
  • Experience in photography a plus. 
  • Experience in video/content creation a plus 
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills. 
  • Strong design and typography skills. Able to offer a variety of solutions 
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. 
  • Strong team player work ethic with the ability to work quickly and efficiently. 
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems. 
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
