SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE:

This position must execute digital marketing and graphic design duties for a variety of mediums. The Digital Marketing & Graphics Coordinator will assist in the development and printing of all Kroc publications, posters, informational brochures, catalogs and all printed and online media. He/she will assist in developing and monitoring content for all Kroc printed and online communications. The Digital Marketing & Graphics Coordinator will also assist the Director of Marketing and Communications with strategic development, timeline creation, as well as communicate with various departments to develop content and manage projects. This individual will promote the image and programs of The Salvation Army Kroc in a professional and attractive manner, responding to inquiries in a timely manner, and generating interest in the Salvation Army Kroc. This individual’s goal is to promote The Salvation Army Kroc in the most professional and attractive manner. We are looking for someone who will have a vision that embraces our mission as well as the stated strategic/brand goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.

  • Design advertising and marketing materials. 
  • Work with team to develop initial concepts for designs based on creative briefs and translate concepts into final production. 
  • Assist Community Relations and Development team with brainstorming marketing, public relations, and advertising strategies. 
  • Assist in managing local and national marketing initiatives with high quality and verifiable ROI and successful launch tactics. 
  • Manage design production process, to include internal and external design reviews. 
  • Create online ads for publications according to specs provided. 
  • Edit and optimize print and video/audio pieces for general audience, web, sales presentations, and tradeshows. 
  • Write and edit copy with an understanding of the facility’s voice 
  • Take photographs and/or video of events and facility. 
  • Participate in the coordination of e-marketing materials, including content, design and distribution. 
  • Manage and maintain graphic files, including logos, photos and art, as well as potential sponsor/advertiser logos and photos. 
  • Maintain integrity of existing brands. 
  • Website and social media supervision including design, strategy, updates and content management. 
  • Assist in producing copy for comprehensive program guides in print and electronic format, as well as preparing them for distribution. 
  • Participate in seasonal activities and special events as requested by the Director of Marketing & Communications Serve as a member of the MOD (Manager on Duty) Team.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:

  • Uses a variety of office equipment including a computer, telephone, fax machine, copiers, printers and projection machines. 
  • Job-specific programs include Photoshop, InDesign, Wordpress. 
  • Operate motor vehicles in the execution of some essential functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, marketing, communications or related field preferred. 
  • Three years of design-related experience crossing multiple media in a deadline-rich environment necessary. 
  • OR - Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Applicant must posses a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army’s insurance carrier. 
  • Applicant must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 60 days of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Advanced art direction skills, including concepting, design, layout and production are required. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of print production. 
  • Strong design portfolio. 
  • Demonstrated competence with basic design principles, layout, and effective use of typography. 
  • Expertise in graphic and computer programs including the entire Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and Internet. 
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal, written and visual) with a proven ability to interpret direction and strategy into a visual product in order to achieve organizational goals and program objectives. 
  • Ability to match designs to strategic or brand goals and originate effective brandmarks or logos. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across multiple mediums. 
  • An organized approach to tracking project progress and a motivated information-seeking approach to projects, as well as an eye for detail. 
  • Pre-press production knowledge. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. 
  • Content management programs and HTML knowledge are a plus. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to create a sense of team among the staff, and the ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner. 
  • Ability to understand market trends and design materials that allow The Salvation Army to be competitive in that market. 
  • Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule. 
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. 
  • Exercise good judgment in personal actions and business matters.
