Broad Description of Duties:

The Digital Marketing Communications Specialist will be responsible for digital marketing communications to loyalty members and general guests to help drive incremental visits and revenue to Marcus Theatres. The Marketing Specialist will develop strategy, create content, and execute member email campaigns and department digital content efforts. This position works with the loyalty manager and analyst to develop effective email communication strategies and help build a community of engaged members. The Specialist will interact with other members in the marketing and sales team to aid in the day-to-day marketing of studio films, special programs, theatre concessions, food and beverage services and amenities.

The Digital Marketing Communications Specialist will report directly to the Loyalty Program Manager and is based out of the corporate office in Milwaukee, WI.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Plan and buildloyalty member email campaigns using a CMS program (Movio) to communicate upcoming films, promotions and special offers, account information and loyalty program updates;
  • Work with creative design team to identify appropriate graphics and images to effectively depict and promote new movies and promotional offers in email campaigns and digital efforts;
  • Draft relevant email content and subject lines that promote and build interest in featured films and help drive incremental ticket purchases and engage members;
  • Assist with tracking effectiveness of digital campaigns including loyalty email efforts (open rates, click through rates, conversions etc.) based on email design/layout, content, subject lines, images and timing of communications;
  • Help align the broader digital communications channels (email, website, app (+push), social and SMS) to ensure consistent messaging and timing of communications;
  • Support marketing team with web content creation and placement (promo pages, website & app ads, etc.) as needed;
  • Overall coordinator of digital content from various internal and external sources;
  • Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the Loyalty Program Manager

Job Requirements:

  • Experience developing digital communications as a primary job function preferred;
  • Exceptional writing skills and creativity for digital campaign design and content;
  • CRM, loyalty marketing, direct marketing and/or relationship marketing background is preferred;
  • Aptitude to learn and work with a CMS system and email editor to construct and produce content for effective digital communications;
  • Experience using email campaign management software such as Constant Contact, SilverPop, MailChimp or similar applications preferred;
  • Ability to effectively communicate and develop strong relationships with internal customers (dept. managers/executives, theatre staff, marketing team) and external customers (loyalty members, vendors, partners);
  • Willing and motivated to learn new skills, tasks, and software systems to meet changing industry demands;
  • Must be comfortable in a fluid and evolving organization;
  • Good organizational, time management and planning skills with excellent attention to detail; Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS);
  • Four to five (4-5) years of applicable experience required

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required
