WMEP Manufacturing Solutions and Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council are looking for a Digital Marketing, Graphic Design and Communication Intern. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working for a mission-driven non-profit, helping small and medium size Wisconsin manufacturers add and retain jobs, find growth opportunities and also help the broader business community be better social and environmental stewards.

The Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council’s (WSBC) mission:

Advance sustainable principles and practices forward through the power of business. We support companies and sustainability professionals through an array of programming, education, resources, and tools. We are a catalyst for businesses looking to integrate sustainability into the fabric of their organization. We are here to transform business into a force of good in Wisconsin and beyond.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic, responsible, and motivated with a passion for community and sustainability to help support our work.

The primary responsibilities are ongoing graphic design production file updates, weekly website updates, curate ongoing newsletters and e-blasts. The Internship is flexible 10-14 hours a week, can work from anywhere and is paid. The position start date and end date are flexible, though we prefer a 6-month commitment. We do take students who can get credit for coursework!

The fall position must work through March and support the promotional efforts of our annual sustainability conference in December and our Manufacturing Matters! conference in February.

Candidates tasks will include the following activities:

  • WMEP website update assitance (WordPress) as needed
  • Ongoing and timely WSBC website updates (currently on a Wix site)
  • Curate WSBC monthly e-newsletter and ongoing e-blasts (in Constant Contact)
  • Supporting ongoing marketing efforts and promotions
  • Curating marketing materials, blogs, and posts
  • Updating and managing our various social media presence as called upon

Desired skills include:

  • Experience with websites (WordPress, Wix), email platforms (Constant Contact), and Canva preferred.
  • Graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and layout experience, eye for detail, organization and design. We will help coach technical skills as needed.
  • Self-starter, ability to complete weekly tasks with little direction.
  • Effective communicator and good writing skills.
  • Creative thinker, willing to offer ideas.
  • Ability and adaptability to work in online platforms.
  • Organized and accountable.
  • Video skills are a plus but not necessary.
  • SEO or strategic marketing development a plus.
