The Role:

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Manager, Indexes to help drive pipeline and revenue growth across our Morningstar Index products and solutions, globally. As the Digital Marketing Manager, you will support the planning and execution of integrated marketing programs that aim to build brand awareness, increase consideration and drive revenue for the unique IP solutions that Morningstar Indexes offers to targeted buyer types within the Institutional, Retail and Wealth space.

As part of the Indexes Marketing team, you will liaise closely with Morningstar’s talented team of designers, writers, engineers, marketers, and project managers, leveraging best practice and technology to maximize success. The ideal candidate should have a strong test and learn orientation with the ability to translate insight into enhanced user experience for key target audiences. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real business impact for Morningstar Indexes.

This role reports to the Head of Indexes Marketing and is located in our Chicago office.


  • Support the development of best-in-class digital marketing program strategy and execution that drives brand awareness, solutions consideration and revenue. 
  • Take ownership of the ongoing management and improvement of the Morningstar Indexes website, including SEO strategy and optimization. 
  • Rigorously test, analyze, and optimize marketing content performance. 
  • Leverage data and analysis to track buyer type behaviors that inform the creation of digital marketing strategies. 
  • Lead user experience testing and evaluation. 
  • Own funnel analytics and reporting for web experiences targeted at primary buyer types (institutions, plan sponsors, consultants, advisors and wealth managers). 
  • Partner with Product Marketing to ensure consistency of messaging across all marketing programs and campaigns. 
  • Evaluate and recommend new online marketing opportunities and technologies. 
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.


  • 3-5 years of digital marketing experience - in the financial services industry a plus. 
  • Deep understanding of web analytics, SEO, A/B testing, tagging, and content management. 
  • Experienced and comfortable creating deliverables (e.g., HTML emails and landing pages). 
  • Experience using marketing tech platforms – Salesforce, Eloqua, Tableau, Google Analytics among others, and in a B2B demand generation environment is preferred. 
  • A track record of successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams as well as working independently and autonomously. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and prioritize work to deliver high-quality work on time. 
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills. 
  • High attention to detail in both written and visual context. 
  • Possess a positive attitude, good sense of humor, and the ability to be empathetic towards the needs of customers and prospects. 
  • Bachelor's degree.
