This multi-dimensional role will drive efficiency and effectiveness of Crate and Barrel media spend by extracting meaning from data in order to shed insight. They will create integrated digital media plans against social, display, retargeting, mobile, and more, optimizing performance in order to maximize sales & traffic for Crate and Barrel, Crate & Kids, Wedding Registry, and the Trade Program. This person will serve as a critical conduit between the content and commercial teams and the media executional teams.

What you'll do...

  • Oversee the Media Agency of Record to provide strategic direction of campaigns and ensure a continuous feedback loop that refines and improves the process over time. 
  • Leverage initiative and resourcefulness to identify and partner with digital media giants as well as startups to test emerging technology, digital best practices, and ideas to enhance creative output. Lead annual Crate and Barrel Tech Trip to identify new trends and collaborate with companies on the forefront of technology. 
  • Partner with content teams, internal media team, external agency partners, and social team to create content that engages customers and furthers the brand’s differentiated positioning. Foster a partnership with Planning/Merchandising teams to ensure clear communication on product level advertising performance. 
  • Collaborate with category pod leads and Analytics team to actively grow customer acquisition, repeat & retention through conception & execution of specific concepts including lifecycle programs. 
  • Own Crate and Barrel’s marketing strategy as it relates to the critical areas of mobile/tablet/apps including mobile checkout; partner with external and internal partners to bring ideas from concept through to execution. 
  • Embrace role as leader & mentor within the Crate and Barrel Marketing team, and the organization overall. 
  • Support all efforts and initiatives across marketing as well all business channels in an effort to maximize company sales growth and profitability. Support the company vision and goals, including applicable key performance indicators (KPIs). 
  • Maintain accurate budgets and stay ahead on complex timelines and communication with leadership and team members. 
  • Embrace Analytics as a source of constructive feedback on media. 
  • Provide constructive feedback to agency & partners, and consistently bring ideas from conception through successful execution.

What you'll bring...

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Minimum 4 years digital media planning; retail experience is a plus 
  • Experience with media negotiations and be comfortable fluidly presenting results both formally and informally, internally and externally 
  • Ability to create media flowchart, plans, and other high impact tools to effectively gain alignment around and communicate our media strategies 
  • Demonstrated ability to track and improve traffic, sales while maintaining and/or growing ROAS, including leveraging hindsighting 
  • Possess in-depth experience with and understanding of social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube and TikTok 
  • Microsoft office suite knowledge, particularly excel and powerpoint, preferred
