Digital PR Associate

Northcutt is seeking a full-time, salary Digital PR Associate (a.k.a. Digital Publicist, public relations associate) to join our growing agency. Your job will be to establish, nurture, and maintain relationships with prominent bloggers, journalists, influencers, website owners, and strategic partners in the interest of gaining greater link authority and public exposure for our clients.

The Job:

  • Collaborate with a well-rounded squad of digital marketers to land media placements. 
  • Proactively network with mainstream bloggers, journalists, podcast hosts, and other influencers. 
  • Pitch various brands, content, interviewees, most of all in cloud services and ecommerce. 
  • Grow the visibility and link authority of client brands through high-quality outreach. 
  • Create publicity action plans that are suitable for presenting to business owners and C-Suite executives. 
  • Expand the opportunities in our outreach database by analyzing competitor backlink portfolios. 
  • Advise clients on opportunities for publicity and their off-site SEO. 
  • Act as an ambassador of our client brands while maintaining a strong personal brand of your own. 
  • Supplemental coverage for organic social media management (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).

About You:

  • 2-4 years experience in Public Relations outreach and/or business development. 
  • A creative sense of humor and love of the Internet as a medium. 
  • Amazing organization and attention to detail. 
  • An ability to manage deadlines while juggling a significant # of small projects. 
  • An ability and desire to learn new industries quickly. 
  • Knowledge of social media best practices on platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. 
  • A background in Public Relations or other relevant digital/marketing discipline.

Brownie Points:

  • Experience with creative, brand-friendly link building tactics and/or media placements. 
  • Experience with data scraping, spreadsheet wizardry, or other productivity hacks. 
  • Experience with any other adjacent marketing field (especially SEO). 
  • Experience with web hosting, data centers, and other tech/IT topics.
  • Experience with BuzzStream, Ahrefs, Moz, BuzzSumo, and/or SEMrush. 
  • Samples of published writing. (Hint: we love blogs! Even the personal kind). 
  • Samples of past placements of editorials, interviews, product reviews, and/or links.
