CHS is seeking an experienced Digital/Social Media Strategist who is passionate about digital ecosystems, including websites and social media. As a key member of the Marketing Communications team, this position will lead strategic direction and daily execution of digital communications across our internal and external channels. This role will work with our digital and content teams and business partners to develop and implement social media and social listening strategy and execution. Working with the digital and content teams, this position will review and monitor all digital channels and work to create a seamless experience for our audiences to increase their awareness of CHS and our product and service offerings to help them make CHS their first choice.

The ideal candidate must be able to use in-depth understanding of web strategy, content marketing, social media channels and analytics to develop and optimize website and social initiatives that will advance our relationships and brand presence with next-generation and current cooperative owners and leaders, supporting business objectives and initiatives.

This position is ideal for a creative, high-energy, strategic thinker with the ability to plan and execute in concert with multiple stakeholders. Responsibilities:

  • Execute and continually develop the digital and social media strategy to our audiences to ensure a cohesive user experience that showcases the breadth of CHS offerings, supports the value of cooperative ownership and invites audience engagement. 
  • Manage the user experience across multiple corporate websites and social media channels, ensuring a consistent, relevant experience and timely execution. 
  • Collaborate with an enterprise wide digital branding team to enhance CHS digital presence across all properties in concert with overall branding efforts and digital marketing and communications objectives. 
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external teams to manage content for distribution across all CHS-owned digital channels. 
  • In collaboration with the digital and content team, meet with CHS business unit communications teams to review digital property performance and needs. 
  • Help execute holistic content and digital strategies and tactics across channels, including but not limited to defining objectives and KPIs, managing marketing/content calendars and collaborating on SEO initiatives. 
  • Partner with internal digital specialists, communicators and business partners to develop and execute plans related to website and social platforms. 
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to manage, evolve and implement enhancements to social channel plans, including working with our content team to develop content development plans, using analytics and social listening to make data-driven decisions and ensuring all content is accurate, relevant and reflects brand guidelines and the CHS purpose and values. 
  • Manage and maintain responsibility for creation of the monthly CHS enterprise social media calendar in collaboration with business unit stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with other communicators to create and update user journey maps and personas to inform digital and other communications programs. 
  • Monitor metrics and maximize productivity of all website and social media activity; use insights and data to reinforce strategies and directions, making adjustments as needed for continuous improvement. 
  • Assist with content publishing and testing code releases as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (required):

  • 7+ years of experience in a website/digital strategy and social media role 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and planning skills 
  • Broad understanding of digital technologies and trends 
  • Experience creating strategic plans and managing content across multiple platforms (web, mobile, social) 
  • Detailed knowledge and expertise executing paid media campaigns on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) 
  • In-depth knowledge of analytics tools for website and social media channels

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in executing communications strategy for senior leaders 
  • Experience using CMS platforms, such as Sitecore, and basic knowledge of HTML and ability to manipulate content 
  • Subject matter experience or understanding of agriculture, food supply chain and/or energy sectors

Ability to:

  • Collect, analyze and use data to guide changes in website and social media strategy 
  • Successfully organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects under strict deadlines 
  • Skillfully enlist internal stakeholders to help navigate relationships and ensure collaboration between teams 
  • Exercise independence, autonomy, and sound judgement in making recommendationsand strategic decisions
