Digital Strategist

This role can sit in Minneapolis, MN or New York, NY.

In this role, you will act as a trusted client and internal-facing consultant as you develop and effectively execute impactful measurement plans while identifying strategies that drive digital results. Understanding online behavior, trends and technologies that play a role in consumers’ lives today, as well as having a proficiency in Google Analytics and familiarity with digital marketing strategies are key to this role. You will help to connect the dots, facilitating highly integrated digital programs with strategy at the core.

You must be extremely detail-oriented and have a curious nature. You are an interpreter of sorts, distilling large amounts of raw data into simple, meaningful stories. You will guide project teams and client leads with digital insights that enable them and their clients to make smarter, more informed decisions. Additionally, you will use and refine our tool sets and collaborate with team members to uncover user experience insights and opportunities to inform our overall agency digital strategy process. You will guide the holistic measurement process across the spectrum of digital performance metrics, delivering proactive omni-channel/full-funnel campaign reporting and forward-looking insights that utilize client business objectives to uncover optimal digital marketing strategies and future optimizations.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Provide specific guidance across integrated, multi-channel programs by partnering with team leads whose charter is to introduce or enhance social, mobile, web, email or paid strategies across digital ecosystems 
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients on integrated programs that drive stakeholders from awareness through action in ways that contribute to client business success 
  • Identify the right questions to uncover business and user needs that lead to insightful and strategic digital recommendations 
  • Analyze granular data, problem solve and provide big-picture thinking

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Providing specific guidance across integrated, multi-channel programs by partnering with team leads whose charter is to introduce or enhance social, mobile, web, email or paid strategies across digital ecosystems 
  • Partnering with internal research, planning and branding teams to help develop, support and facilitate strategic digital research. This could include, but is not limited to, activities such as competitive analysis, usability research, campaign testing and personal development 
  • Staying abreast of industry best practices, new digital intelligence technologies (data management, analytics and optimization) and advancements in digital measurement to ensure that the team is always improving, and delivering advanced, innovative solutions for our clients 
  • Organizing and implementing digital goal-setting sessions involving team members, Account Service and clients 
  • Using and reporting out to internal teams, goal-setting takeaways to identify and implement digital solutions grounded in findings, and inform KPIs for future measurement 
  • Partnering with team/channel leads to develop measurement plans and implement integrated dashboards for monitoring performance against established KPIs; contribute analysis, uncovering insights that help our clients – and the agency – remain relevant and strategic

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience 
  • Four or more years of experience, with at least 2 years in digital analytics 
  • Experience in digital, ecommerce, web design, digital marketing, analytics or related field 
  • Ability to understand the application of digital analytics to strategic communications and brand-building programs as well as broad business needs 
  • Google Analytics certified with proficiency in Google Data Studio and Microsoft Office tools 
  • Proficiency in Google Tag Manager or other tag management systems 
  • Understanding of email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) 
  • Full-funnel performance reporting and dashboard creation (incorporating data from Marketo, Salesforce, etc. is a plus) 
  • Knowledge of common digital strategies and tactics across PESO model (i.e. email marketing, SEO/SEM, etc.) 
  • Understanding of digital development processes; website architecture and structure 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to distill large amounts of data into simple language and action plans 
  • Good time management and relationship-building skills 
  • Consistent and results-oriented 
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and occasionally operate office equipment 
  • Ability to travel as needed

BONUS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Proficiency in other BI Platforms; Tableau, DOMO and Adobe Analytics experience a plus 
  • Experience working with CRM data (e.g., Salesforce) and integrating client marketing automation and BI data into campaign analytic outputs 
  • Advanced knowledge of web analytics implementation best practices, and hands-on practical experience managing complex implementations 
  • Social listening experience, including advising on listening strategy, priority terms
