Position Summary:

The Direct Response Copywriter will serve as the creative force responsible for optimizing our most important marketing assets: ads, emails, opt-in pages, sales pages, VSLs, webinar funnels, and video scripts. The ideal candidate will be a lifelong student of direct response marketing: Writing headlines, leads, bullets, long form, short form, compelling calls to action, and everything in between. This copywriter will be provided with KPI dashboards and analytics and will be EXCITED about the opportunity to write data-driven copy, seeing the results of testing his/her marketing assets across MILLIONS of readers and viewers. Applicants should expect a fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines and completed deliverables each week. This is not an entry-level position.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and be able to execute numerous successful marketing strategies simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines. The primary responsibility of the marketing copywriter is to research and write original copy or optimize existing copy. This person’s primary objectives are reducing cost per lead and increasing sales conversion rates, while adhering to strict brand standards. This person should also be a creative thinker who is willing to offer insight and ideas and a team player who collaborates effectively in a team environment. This person will have keen insight into the minds of our customer avatars and will be relied upon for the creation and implementation of marketing initiatives. This position requires an in-depth understanding of and experience in direct response marketing.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of successful copywriting experience serving a variety of stakeholders, formats and media with a demonstrated ability to write clear and compelling marketing material on a consistent basis under tight deadlines. Work samples will be required.
• A working knowledge of firearms, or the willingness and ability to learn about firearms, self-defense, training and concealed carry very quickly
• Demonstrate the ability to craft high converting marketing copy
• Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to tackle any job to reach the corporate goals
• Be a self-starter with extremely high standards and the ability to work independently and on a team to meet deadlines
• Proven time management skills in deadline-driven work
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with a creative team
