As our Director, Brand Strategy, you will...

Be Accountable and Responsible

As Director, Brand Strategy, you will have experience working in communications (advertising/campaigns) and digital experiences (e.g. digital products, sites, apps). You will calibrate what is needed for successful experience-driven engagements with CX and UX teams and a comms-driven initiatives with campaign teams, and your contributions help our extended team deliver more seamlessly.

  • Your job is to uncover human insights and craft brand strategies that will drive business results and inspire teams to deliver relevant work. This is a hands-on role where you will lead client engagements and pitches, collaborate closely with leads in creative and media, as well as experience design and fellow strategists. 
  • You serve as a strategic business consultant to clients and work beside them to define brand strategies that resonate with their internal teams and create sparks for agency talent to design worthwhile programs. 
  • You collaborate daily with creative leaders and inventive thinkers on the highest profile initiatives in our portfolio. 
  • You get excited by helping people look at the everyday in a new way -- or make the unfamiliar suddenly relatable.

These are the qualifications we’re looking for:

  • At least 7 year’s experience in account planning or a related area, with a portfolio that demonstrates your knowledge and ability to craft solutions relevant for a digitally enabled world. 
  • Experience with healthcare, specifically health systems and hospitals, is required. 
  • Thinks progressively about the many ways a brand is built today, including product and experience design, community, and of course advertising. Passionate in thinking about how brands express themselves across channels and through real world and digital experiences. 
  • A demonstrated ability to lead clients and colleagues to new approaches -- helping to reframe a problem and pursue a novel approach to that opportunity. 
  • Deep familiarity with brand strategy and a variety of marketing models; sound judgment with regard to what to use when 
  • Expertise in a variety of research methodologies, including savvy use of qualitative and quantitative solutions. Recognizing how agencies tend to have access to the same tools, you’re inventive at arriving at fresh customer insights. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of customer segmentation and how to efficiently arrive at audience profiles that spark interesting solutions and can be applied in the real world, working with communications planners and media teams. 
  • The ability to consult with clients on how brands grow and the value this contributes to a business. 
  • Conversant in how to apply brand strategy to inform experience design and product strategy. The ability and desire to partner with people across different capabilities to push work forward, and excited about partnering with seasoned practitioners in CX strategy, CRM, and digital strategy. 
  • Experience in CX – applying human-centered design practices to improving customer experiences – is also highly valued. This could include generative research and participatory design methods, as well as product/service roadmapping. 
  • Exception storytelling ability.

Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000

Salary differential is based on seniority, merit, education, training and experience. MERGE’scareer ladders reflect department growth from Associate through Partner levels, with details of roles and responsibilities associated with each level. New hires are assigned a job level within a particular position based on these criteria and salary is set within the job level based on these criteria. Growth from one level to the next occurs when employees master their role, and are promoted into the next level, generally during salary review cycles which are posted in the employee handbook.
