The Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center (F&MCW-CC) is the only academic cancer research center in the state that is accessible to large, unique and chronically underserved minority populations. It comprises almost 350 cancer researchers and physicians from more than 34 departments at MCW and our partner organizations. Clinical and translational work is linked through disease-oriented teams in breast, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, hematologic, gynecologic, and aerodigestive cancers, and also is clustered through the Cancer Biology Program, Cancer Prevention and Outcomes Program, Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Program, and Prostate Cancer Center of Excellence.

Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) and the F&MCW Cancer Center (F&MCW-CC), seeks a communications leader that will build a communications team to strategically position the center within the local, regional and national cancer research arena. This leadership position will develop an overarching innovative communications plan, select and prepare provocative and impactful research- and patient-centric news stories that utilize written, video and various social media platforms for dissemination to internal and external audiences. The communication team will connect cancer center members, stakeholders, the community, and partnering institutions with our mission and goals through the cancer center website and an innovative multi-media campaign that includes press releases for cancer center website and the media. The communications leader will work with and ultimately report directly to the MCW cancer center Director.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field with a preference for academic experience. Experience in an academic cancer center preferred. Seeking an individual who can create robust content pushed out in multiple channels. This position provides media relations, marketing, public relations and communications services for center initiatives
