The Director, Corporate Alliances is responsible for executing strategies related to corporate and institutional fundraising and development efforts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties):

  • Manage all stages of business development, including but not limited to client research, proposal development presentation, and solicitation, contract execution and fulfillment for all assigned corporate prospects.* 
  • In coordination with internal resources and outside vendors, plan and execute business development and client servicing activities for high-profile events, including the annual USO Gala.* 
  • Coordinate the preparation of corporate partnership agreements, ensuring that all terms and conditions are clearly defined, understood, and approved prior to execution.* 
  • Coordinate partnership marketing benefits, promotions, payments, and licensing arrangements. 
  • Utilize internal Marketing resources to create, and review promotional items, materials, presentations, and other content related to corporate sponsorships and fundraising events.* 
  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret reports, including but not limited to budget, goal-to-actual, and other revenue reports, partner stewardship, center-level participation reports, and Pipeline and Partner reports. 
  • Present results to senior management. 
  • Lead, manage and mentor Account Managers and Coordinator. 
  • Perform assigned duties in the absence of Vice President, Corporate Alliances.* 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 10+ years work experience in fundraising/development role, including 5+ years in a supervisory capacity. 
  • Relevant experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred. 
  • In-depth knowledge of business development strategies and processes. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams. 
  • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism. 
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise. 
  • Working knowledge of basic business and accounting functions including project management and budgeting. 
  • Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, with the ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs. 
  • Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. 
  • Working knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver’s license. 
  • Must be a strong advocate of the USO’s mission to lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families.
