The Director, Corporate Relations (DCR) will serve in the Office for Development & Alumni Relations under the supervision of the COO/Director Major & Planned Gifts. The DCR will coordinate UWM’s efforts to maximize private philanthropic support from corporate entities, as well as facilitate the development of positive relationships and partnerships.

The DCR will manage a portfolio comprised of corporate donors and prospects. The DCR will work collaboratively with colleagues throughout UWM, including Development & Alumni Relations staff, senior administrative leadership, the Director of Strategic Partnerships, academic staff/faculty, school-based corporate relations staff, and other campus entities with strong ties to corporations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Progressively responsible and successful experience/growth in in fund development or related role, with a strong emphasis on corporate relations or corporate-focused work
  • Demonstrated evidence of a strong track record of success 
  • Leadership experience within a complex organization 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or experience in a technical profession; other advanced degree relevant to qualifications listed 
  • Self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, strategic thinker with professional maturity
  • Superior verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Experience with public institutions, especially in higher education 
  • Experience with corporate entities and knowledge of policies and procedures related to corporate memberships, sponsorship affiliations, and philanthropic giving 
  • Fund development campaign experience 
  • Experience in the use of donor or sales management database systems 
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive
