Director, eCommerce and Digital Marketing for a leading business association with more than 40,000 diverse active member companies in a multi-billion dollar industry.

The Director, eCommerce and Digital Marketing will play an essential role in developing and managing digital marketing strategies for multiple highly respected brands. The position will oversee the development and maintenance of eight websites, all social media channels and increase our clients' digital footprint.

In addition, as Director, eCommerce and Digital Marketing you will oversee outside agencies and vendors and collaborate on enterprise-wide campaigns and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive web technology, eCommerce and traditional marketing skills and can lead the digital marketing team.

Responsibilities:

eCommerce/Websites

  • Oversight and development of websites strategies and vision
  • Manage digital, eCommerce, website team and eCommerce & website agencies
  • Oversight of web project management including prioritization of projects with IT teams
  • Manage web team budget and digital tech stack
  • Develop and oversee governance and standards for the websites, including user experience (UX), accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), all compliance regulations (CAN-SPAM, FERPA etc.) mobile responsiveness, CMS & eCommerce platforms, website forms, and web/interactive content
  • Optimizing the site’s user experience to ensure clear pathing for consumers vs businesses vs academic vs instructors
  • Create and manage the websites’ content – inclusive of landing pages and international site translations
  • Monitor websites and eCommerce use, trends, KPI’s and user metrics by leveraging Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Provide best practices leadership in web marketing for internal and external audiences
  • Be a champion for marketing/e-commerce projects and advocate for best practices in eCommerce and digital marketing
  • Maintain,revise and enhance websitesfunctionalityto increase conversions
  • Work closely with sales, product management, customer care and other content owners to enhance the website/eCommerce strategy and realize the desired customer experience across all touch points
  • Monitor competitor’s eCommerce activities and maintain knowledge of e-commerce trends and opportunities

PPC/SEO

  • Develop a cutting-edge acquisition strategy across paid search, paid social and programmatic (Display, Retargeting, Video, Audio), inclusive of media mix, audience targeting, budget allocation, creative, and channel KPI’s
  • Manage agency and internal team to achieve revenue, demand generation and usage objectives
  • Collaborate across departments to develop a comprehensive plan for current & future product marketing efforts
  • Analyze performance data and provide intelligent synthesis, interpretation and appropriate action plans based on conclusions
  • Ensure pacing to budget for both spend and revenue on a monthly and annual basis
  • Oversee search marketing team to ensure web properties maintain SEO and SEM best practices
  • Develop, evaluate, and oversee the implementation of A/B testing protocols and procedures, keyword research and landing page optimization

Social Media

  • Ability to guide social media, content and design subject matters experts in order to deploy programs which achieve objectives
  • Help develop and review influencer marketing and social media content strategies
  • Manage and train department resources, including team capacity and department budgets
  • Ensure total quality of work across all social media content programs
  • Manage team operations, includes processes, template and workflows, in order to ensure consistency, effectiveness and efficiency
  • Drive overall program success of social content marketing programs, including ensuring strategies and tactics will drive revenue, lead generation and followers & monitoring program KPIs
  • Guide refinement, innovation and vision for influencer and social media content services

Essential Use of Following Tools:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products – Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel.
  • eCommerce platforms SCA NetSuite, Woo Commerce preferred
  • CMS platforms Kentico and WordPress preferred
  • Google Analytics, Google AdWords and Google Tag Manager
  • All Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.) and social media ad platforms
  • Testing platforms such as Optimizely or Litmus experience are a plus
  • Adobe software including photoshop, InDesign etc. are a plus2. 

Essential Training/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in direct management of corporate websites, including ecommerce, using KPIs and sales data.
  • 8-10 years’ experience with B2B/B2C digital marketing and eCommerce management
  • Familiarity with Education/Training/Certification Industry preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with Hospitality/Restaurant Industry preferred but not required3.

Essential Skills/Knowledge:

  • Ecommerce specific skills including knowledge of web analytics, web communities, web syndication/web feeds and Web 2.0
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong project management and organizational skills. 
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think strategically and act tactically.
  • Ability to use strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to create new strategies, build business cases, and win stakeholder buy-in.
  • Must be analytical, strategic and willing to embrace the challenge of significantly increasing e-commerce revenue
  • Has experience with consumer shopping engines (CSE)
  • Strong writing, reading, math and communications skills
  • Strong communication skills and proven track record of managing teams and agencies
  • Significant communication skills in written and verbal formats; showcases clear and concise manner
  • Complex problem-solving (create options, then converge)

$150,000 - $160,000 with bonus potential
