The Director, Global Strategic Marketing is responsible for three key areas to drive the growth of the business.

  1. Core Marketing – being the voice of the customer and including customer validation in the NPI process by formal processes including and not limited to customer research and usability testing. Core 5 P’s of marketing and all NPI launches and planning and all marketing collaterals associated with it.
  2. Business strategy and commercial adoption – ability to look at trends and look around corners to work with the GM of the business to validate and drive business direction including in adjacencies. Work with regions to focus on the business and drive growth
  3. Internal and external communications – work with communications teams to create a positive impression of the business and gain thought leadership with key clinical stakeholders

This role is a key member of the DCAR staff and has marketers and clinical specialists reporting into the role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Be the voice of the customer – both internal and external – and keep the organization focused on validating direction with our customers 
  • Responsible for working with the leadership team on strategic direction for the business by proactively looking at the market space and monitoring current and potential competition.
  • Development of business and marketing plans, including value proposition, for assigned products/offers/services; 
  • Involves participation in the evaluation of market research, market positioning, promotions associated with assigned scope. 
  • Developing commercial expertise across one or more countries, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customer groups. 
  • Influences policy and ensures delivery across large and/or diverse sales territories. 
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process. 
  • Leads others to find creative solutions to address complex projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision. 
  • Has ability to attract and retain talent. May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to act and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers. 
  • This role is also on the staff of the CMO for the Life Care solutions (LCS) business (dotted line) and would be responsible to work with the CMO to align on the overall marketing direction and strategic needs for LCS and GEHC as a whole

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in global strategic marketing or related fields 
  • Healthcare product/industry/technical acumen 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, experience in executive level presentations 
  • Strong analytical and process skills 
  • Demonstrable project management skills 
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment 
  • Willingness to travel 10-30%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field 
  • 7+ years experience in product management, marketing, commercial marketing or related field 
  • Demonstrated experience in bringing devices to market with successful product launches 
  • Deep Marketing expertise, including: market trends/analysis, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management. 
  • Healthcare product/industry/technical acumen 
  • Innovation – develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas 
  • Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional teams 
  • Demonstrated ability to work globally 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers. 
  • Flexible work location depending on experience
