We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Marketing Operations to join our UL Research Institutes.

The Director of Marketing Operations leads a team that is responsible for end-to-end marketing optimization and building a foundation for marketing excellence through the organization of process, technology, and resources, allowing the communications function to efficiently scale with quality and consistency. The role will oversee the marketing infrastructure including project planning, system governance, and provide operational support to the communication functions through process improvement, marketing technology tools/solutions, and measurement support. The Director of Marketing Operations works closely with other directors, leaders and colleagues across UL Research Institutes (ULRI) and UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) to advance their respective communications strategies.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

As the Director of Marketing Operations you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Lead the end-to-end marketing operations function, optimizing and building a foundation through the organization of process, technology, and resources. 
  • Attract, retain, structure, motivate and lead a proactive, collaborative marketing operations team. 
  • Manage the marketing technology stack and provide recommendations for system additions, enhancements, or upgrades/downgrades. 
  • Lead analysis of system investments and marketing analytics to assess impact across various internal and external communication platforms. 
  • Lead the goal setting process with the communications leadership team. 
  • Lead all of marketing operations both live and virtual strategy; support organization with audience experience strategy. 
  • Provide analyses and interpretations of campaign data and market insights to identify key drivers for improvement and ensure visibility and analysis of results. 
  • Lead the planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the communications department in partnership with the communications leadership team. 
  • Lead continued optimization for website and all digital touchpoints, including social media profiles, landing pages, and funnel related activities. 
  • Ensure strong cross-functional partnerships across the two organizations. 
  • Perform other duties as directed and represent the communications function as needed in key cross-functional strategic enterprise initiatives, events and transformation projects.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field. 
  • Minimum 10 years of related discipline experience or demonstrated competency. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing teams and direct reports by assessing and prioritizing projects. 
  • Experience working with diverse, global teams strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with digital tools and processes required. 
  • Experience with Marketo and/or Salesforce preferred. 
  • Experience in establishing global website strategy, including ongoing management and optimization to meet key business results. 
  • Expertise with marketing automation and CRM solutions. 
  • Experience with message development and message distribution via myriad channels
