First Stop Health seeks a Director of Communications (DOC) to work with the CEO to develop and maintain a uniform consistent marketing, messaging and communications plans for our organization.

The DOC is responsible for developing a communications strategy to help us increase brand reach and enhance marketplace perception of us as a thought leader in virtual care. You will work with the CEO and other senior management to create and maintain effective messaging strategy, public relations, media relations, internal communications and content strategy.

Duties include:

  • Work with our CEO and senior management team to develop our strategic communications goals and priorities around promoting our Core Values of Caring, Unrelenting, Trusted and Transparent, internally and externally. 
  • Develop clear, engaging, and targeted tactics to reach our diverse audience of patients, clients, doctors, employees, and brokers/benefit advisors. 
  • Ensure all communications are consistent with our brand, and across our platforms and are aligned with our Core Values and business goals. 
  • Cultivate relationships with senior editors and journalists to drive coverage of our company as well as positioning our Chief Medical Officer and other executives as trusted sources regarding virtual care. 
  • Maintain an issues management program. Develop pre-emptive, proactive communications plans addressing targeted audiences to mitigate risk and drive communications around key issues. 
  • Understand emerging trends in healthcare (particularly the areas of nonemergent telemedicine and tele-mental health), marketing, and communications to ensure First Stop Health is a leader in virtual care. 
  • Refine communications plans to elevate brand perception. Measure the impact of the of those efforts measured in perception and reach. 
  • Create comprehensive thought leadership plans that enable First Stop Health and members of its leadership team to increase their reach with key constituents through a multiplicity of traditional and digital channels. 
  • Manage outside writers and creative resources.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 7 years of relevant experience preferred. Comprehensive and thorough understanding of key communications practices within editorial and public relations in a healthcare organization. 
  • Bachelor’s degree

Desired Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience communicating through a wide variety of media to sophisticated, diverse audiences. 
  • Ability to manage internal and external relationships; preparing, justifying and presenting business cases, budgets and plans; and measuring the impact of different strategies and programs. 
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships, evidenced by a track record of teamwork and collegiality managing cross-functional teams and building relationships beyond your functional area. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop alliances with internal and external groups and comfort dealing effectively, diplomatically, and honestly with all levels of management and staff.
