Trinity Services, Inc., founded in 1950, is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization that provides the highest quality person-directed services and supports to people with developmental disabilities and mental illness so that they may flourish and live full and abundant lives.

Trinity serves more than 5,500 adults and children who have intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health needs. Trinity’s mission to help people flourish is at the heart of all it offers, including residential services, numerous community day services, employment services, a school, therapeutic horseback riding, respite services, a recreation center, a range of therapeutic services, and more.

Services are provided in more than 30 Illinois communities in the Southwest, Northwest and Western Suburbs of Chicago, as well as Southern and Central Illinois.

This position reports to Director of Development and is responsible for ensuring Trinity Services, Inc. is effectively communicating with the public, its supporters, its family members and its staff members through consistent, positive messaging through a multichannel stream. This position also seeks to amplify Trinity’s mission and gain more support and understanding for topics relating to developmental disabilities and mental health.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Writing and publishing press releases, highlighting positive and newsworthy topics relating to people receiving support from the organization, staff, supporters and the organization as a whole. 
  • Monitoring and publishing consistent, engaging updates to organization’s social media accounts 
  • Updating organization’s website regularly with news and photo updates; ensures information on website is up-to-date and accurate 
  • Monitoring and tracking analytics relating to social media accounts, website and online ad campaigns 
  • Editing all outgoing marketing materials 
  • Filming, editing and disseminating videos for external and internal audiences 
  • Providing assistance with low- to medium-level graphic design projects in Development office and across organization 
  • Contributing to planning, marketing and execution of Development events 
  • Spearheading the planning and execution of annual GivingTuesday campaign 
  • Writing annual fundraising appeal, spring appeal and annual report 
  • Taking candid and posed photos at events and of specific people for stories 
  • Writing and sending out regular emails to supporters regarding fundraising campaigns, advocacy campaigns, upcoming events and news

Required skills and abilities:

  • Journalistic, writing and editing skills required for storytelling 
  • Adherence to deadlines 
  • Photography and videography skills 
  • Knowledge of best digital and traditional marketing practices 
  • Close attention to detail 
  • Strong donor and public relations skills 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills 
  • Computer skills and ability to learn software and programs necessary to complete job

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or marketing-related field 
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position 
  • Ability to show samples of previous writing, marketing and creative work 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, video editing, and CRM software 
  • Experience managing brand social media accounts and messaging

LOCATION: New Lenox, IL

HOURS: 8:30am to 5:00pm, M-F with occasional evening and weekend events

SALARY RANGE: $38,000 - $55,000, depending on experience
