WHEDA is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to join our Marketing  and Communications department in our Madison facility

SALARY: Hiring Range for this position is from $121,562-$148,422 Annually. Offered Salary will be based on qualifications and internal pay equity. WHEDA provides a competitive salary and WHEDA employees participate in the State of Wisconsin benefit package which includes retirement, health insurance and deferred compensation programs.  

This is a professional management position responsible for managing and supervising the Authority’s Marketing and Communications functions. The Marketing and Communications Director is a member of the Authority’s senior management team and participates in organizational and strategic planning activities and decision‐making.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Designs, directs, and implements the Authority’s overall marketing plan to support strategic planning programs and corporate communications. Reviews current marketing trends and incorporates innovative styles and strategies into the Authority’s marketing plan. Raises awareness of products in the marketplace and ensures consistent corporate branding and messaging across all markets served. 
  • Works with all business units to develop successful marketing strategies and communication campaigns that support WHEDA’s mission, strategic plan, business goals and financing products.   
  • Is responsible for overseeing the WHEDA Foundation Annual Housing Grant Program and the Authority’s annual conference. 
  • Plans and executes social media, communication strategies and public relation strategies and activities to increase brand presence with key products in identified markets.  
  • Manages professional staff, ensuring adequate training and opportunity, prioritization of tasks; monitors individual performance and provides feedback to staff. Provides succession planning for the Marketing/Communications team.    
  • Creates and implements strategic partnerships and alliances with product partner organizations as well as State and local government agencies and private organizations/foundations. 
  • Develop speeches and key message points for the Executive Office, Governor’s Office and/or other staff. 
  • Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Advertising, social media or a closely related field; AND 10 years of progressively responsible, professional level experience directly related to the area of assignment, including 3 years of management/supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and experience.
