Director Of Marketing, Claims
Chicago Illinois
Chicago or Remote, IL

This is an outstanding opportunity to support our Claims organization in a Director of Marketing role. In this role you will develop and execute on marketing plans and programs to achieve business goals.Travel expected at 10-20%. This role can be based from a Zurich U.S. office or virtually.

The Director of Marketing, Claims is also responsible for the following:

  • Works with business leaders and subject matter experts to determine growth opportunities and objectives and develop a comprehensive marketing strategy, starting with market opportunity analysis, competitive advantage identification, proposition refreshes or development, integrated marketing campaign strategy development and high quality execution across the marketing mix that promotes the Zurich brand, products and/or services. 
  • Has knowledge of business metrics and can interpret metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Has strong customer insight and tracks customer industry segment trends and risk to identify thought leadership opportunities. Works closely with Sales Management, sales teams and all customer-facing employees on distribution strategy and provides them with strong value proposition messaging to take to market. Can articulate complex products in a market-driven way. 
  • Creates marketing materials that effectively communicate the Zurich value proposition and deliver the Zurich brand promise to customers and distributors. Plans and makes decisions based on strong knowledge of market objectives by developing project plans and following up with actions items. 
  • Manages primary business relationships through influencing and guiding thinking to achieve best possible results.
  • Plans and works with business budgets, demonstrating Return On Investment and value in strategies selected and implemented. 
  • Studies customer industry segments to develop keen insights into emerging risk trends and identifies thought leadership opportunities. 
  • Provides project management, problem analysis, and recommendations regarding various marketing problems identified by the team or management.


  • Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Marketing area


  • Familiarity with insurance claims 
  • Experience in cross-functional teams 
  • Team leadership and training skills 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills 
  • Ability to lead strategic marketing projects and marketing initiatives 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Skills in profit and loss responsibility, client relations, and cost control management
