SUCCESS FACTOR SNAPSHOT:

First 30 days:

  • Learn and understand our company. distributors, retailers, consumers and competitors. 
  • Press releases submitted monthly to pet industry publications (print and web). 
  • Collaborate with sales team, distributors and retailers to assess marketing needs. 
  • Prepare and present marketing plan, budget, goals to CEO.

First 60 days:

  • Align marketing materials, packaging and online presence into one brand message. 
  • Facebook "following us" reaches 2,000/day and increases 15% per month thereafter. 
  • Staffing of marketing interns is completed, including PR, social media and videography.
  • Determine the appropriate mix of traditional and social/digital marketing.

First 90 days:

  • Launch first VE video, with quarterly video releases to follow. Target 100,000 views! 
  • Discover and leverage marketing opportunities with online pet products retailers. 
  • Consumer loyalty/rewards program is launched. 
  • The first customer survey is initiated...quarterly surveys thereafter. 
  • Company managers' Facebook and LinkedIn pages are strategically enhanced.

First 120 days:

  • On-line store/distributor customer training quiz is launched. 
  • Create one-to-one distributor and retailer support tools. 
  • Establish criteria that indicates VE is a respected, successful CPG brand. 
  • 1,000 web hits per week, increasing by 5% weekly thereafter. 
  • Success matrix for leveraging social media sites created.

First 6 months:

  • Community awareness and community outreach programs created. 
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) brochures and web site completed. 
  • Store POS strategy created and launched.

First 9 months:

  • Create selling site, potentially with AnimalFood.com, similar to Zulily.com. 
  • Video library completed, for internal and external use, for training and advertising.
  • "Fresh Food" package re-design completed.

First 12 months: 

  • 2,500 total stores, each purchasing a minimum of $500 wholesale/month.
  • First Vital Essentials television ad airs.
