How Is This Role Important to Our Work?

As Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for strategies and initiatives that drives growth and retention of our Government and Commercial health plan products. Leading an internal team of managers and marketing strategists, you will develop and successfully implement multi-channel marketing plans. You will work closely with a variety of business partners within and outside of Marketing to define, strategize, develop, and implement innovative programs and solutions that will acquire new customers and deepen existing customer relationships. You are a hardworking, strategic problem solver who’s not afraid to get into the trenches to get the job done, shifting easily from high-level strategy development to the daily oversight of marketing campaign and implementation activities. This position reports to the VP of Strategy and Marketing.

A Day in the Life:

  • Leads development and execution of robust marketing strategy for health plan products that are sold through B2B and B2C channels 
  • Manages planning, monitoring, carrying out, measuring, and analyzing of marketing activities as they relate to business growth goals 
  • Responsible for marketing budget with respect to scope and priority co-established with the business 
  • Ensures that budget aligns with marketing plan and funds are allocated appropriately to meet growth goals 
  • Translates business goals into marketing objectives and strategies and effectively communicates the strategies to facilitate business growth by using insights from data and setting clear metrics for success 
  • Leads high-priority, enterprise-wide initiatives, collaborating across the organization, setting clear direction, and influencing senior management. 
  • Builds and develops strong working relationships within the enterprise (sales, product, creative/brand, public relations, and other key functions) and collaborates creatively across workstreams. 
  • Measures and optimizes marketing tactic performance, through both traditional and digital channels, using data to evaluate program results and seek new opportunities for refinement and growth 
  • Recommends new opportunities to leadership and uses synthesized information that clearly communicates key takeaways and strategy to influence decisions 
  • Socializes campaign analysis and insights 
  • Leads and inspires marketing team to deliver solutions that align with mission and strategic plan 
  • Interviews, hires, and manages associates to build a collaborative team, following required EEO and Affirmative Action guidelines 
  • Conducts performance evaluations, and ensures Associates receive timely feedback, mentorship, training, and career development 
  • Sets the tone for a culture that supports our values: Put the customer first, be remarkable, succeed together, own it, find a better way and do the right thing.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • 7 + years of related marketing experience, focusing on strategic marketing. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered. 
  • 3+ years of leading a team. 
  • Expert knowledge in the areas of marketing strategy, sales enablement, customer experience, insights, customer engagement, digital and print advertising, product promotion, sales channels, communications planning and customer relationship management 
  • Passion for customer data and its ability to transform and drive business goals 
  • Experience developing content roadmaps and guidance for development of organizational thought leadership 
  • Proficient in behavior change methodologies and using content in all its forms to influence behavior 
  • Proven leadership skill in highly matrixed environment where need to influence rather than directly control is imperative 
  • Excellent verbal and written business communication skills, including the ability to simplify and summarize complex information, and create and deliver professional presentations to senior leadership and external audiences 
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship management skills, including the ability to work with a wide variety of people and personalities, and effectively facilitate group discussions and decision-making 
  • An understanding of project management process and operations to guide and support the team’s tactical executions 
  • Effective negotiation and presentation skills! 
  • Strong critical and systems thinking skills
