C & B Operations, LLC operates thirty-seven John Deere dealerships in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. It began in 1988 when Dan Cronin and Rod Burwell purchased the John Deere store in Gettysburg, SD to keep a dealership open in Dan’s hometown. The Cronin’s own and operate a farm and ranch operation started in 1909, near Gettysburg, SD. Dan Cronin passed away in 1999 and one of his sons, Matt Cronin, took the role of President of C & B Operations at that time. Rod Burwell spent time in Gettysburg as a child, worked on the Cronin Family Farm and remained close friends with Dan. Rod Burwell passed away in 2015 and his son, Peter Burwell assumed Rod’s role as President of Burwell Enterprises and Chairman of C & B Operations LLC.

Director of Marketing
Jackson, MN

C & B Operations, a leading John Deere Dealer, has an opening for a full-time Director of Marketing. This individual will oversee, coordinate, and participate in the development of marketing strategies and products for the C & B Operations marketing team. They will be comfortable with the day-to-day marketing activities, as well as long-term strategy, thriving with tight deadlines and changing needs. This person will support and contribute as part of the marketing team in a variety of ways in the following areas: branding, events, operations, creative, production, digital and editorial. This position will be located in Jackson, MN.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervises the marketing team, including hiring, training, workloads, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Develops marketing staff by providing information, mentorship, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities, as well as monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Track the status of all projects from beginning to end, and proactively communicate updates on Co-Schedule and present frequent progress to the leadership team.
  • Understand key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools, such as Google Analytics, to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends to translate results into actionable insights for marketing team.
  • Work with the CMO in the development and implementation of marketing plans and budget, including promotional calendars and programs, new product introductions and other marketing projects across the company.
  • Optimize and refine the digital marketing initiatives such as PPC, SEO, email, texting, and the website to maximize budget spend and generate inbound sales leads.
  • Conduct audits of the marketing needs for different departments and optimize the current programs.
  • Proofread and sign off on creative for advertising campaigns.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in the marketing field.
  • Collaborative skills to accept and incorporate ideas into strategies.
  • Bachelor’s in business administration, marketing and communications or related field.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Suite and various marketing software (Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail and proofreading is essential.
