We have an opening for a Director of Marketing. The Director of Marketing will develop and execute initiatives that shape Capstone’s go-to-market strategy and drive growth for the company. This role is responsible for elevating Capstone’s brand and managing activities that will deliver new sales opportunities. The ideal candidate is a practitioner, as well as an effective collaborator and motivator who can lead a team of marketers to success. The role oversees the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy for the company’s four business units. This includes inbound and outbound marketing campaigns, public relations and external communications, advertising, digital/social media, and sales lead generation. This is a high-impact, highly visible role that requires a strategic, creative, analytical, and organized leader with B2B experience.

The Director of Marketing is a key member of the corporate Business Development team, whose mission is to champion growth and inspire change by solving complex problems and delighting customers. The goal is to increase the company’s market share and maximize returns to thrive against competitors.


  • Responsible for all marketing activities within the company. This includes planning, directing, and coordinating all marketing efforts; guiding the day-to-day activities of the marketing team; and personally completing a range of tactical projects. 
  • Drive the early sales cycle / fill the top of the sales funnel through inbound and outbound lead generation. 
  • Collaborate with Sales to identify and advance new business opportunities. Enable them to meet their commercial objectives by providing appropriate tools and materials. 
  • Build and manage the company’s Brand strategy, including awareness and positioning. Ensure brand guidelines are adhered to in all marketing activities across the company. 
  • Develop marketing plans and standardized processes to create consistency while improving efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Create content and campaign calendars / project plans; managing deliverables, dates, and deadlines. 
  • Own the continuous improvement of all marketing and lead generation processes and content. 
  • Manage external communications / public relations. Craft key company messaging. 
  • Lead a diverse marketing team, including coaching, training, and performance reviews. 
  • Create and manage marketing budgets, allocate resources based upon optimal return on investment 
  • Stay current on logistics industry market trends, research, and tools. 
  • Carry out competitor analysis to ensure the marketing strategy is competing effectively. 
  • Direct and oversee all design and advertising initiatives / campaigns.
  • Oversee digital / social media strategy and content marketing (including all company websites) 
  • Manage marketing and sales analytics and reporting 
  • Manage external service providers / vendors / partners, including holding them accountable to co-developed goals and metrics 
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned


  • Highly organized, strategic, and creative personality with strong business acumen 
  • Strong creative writing and copywriting skills – ability to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs to different audiences 
  • Current knowledge of marketing best practices and tools / technology 
  • Experience with consultative selling techniques and proactive sales processes 
  • Ability to lead and inspire direct / indirect reports, strategic partners, and vendors 
  • Strong problem solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related. Advanced degree preferred. 
  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience in marketing, demand generation / lead generation, digital marketing, and communications with a proven ability to deliver consistently strong, measurable results. 
  • Marketing and sales experience for a B2B, services company highly preferred. 
  • Experience building and executing go-to-market strategies 
  • Demonstrated experience leading marketing teams, developing budgets, and managing large / time-sensitive projects. 
  • Experience increasing brand awareness and reach across multiple platforms 
  • Eye for creative marketing opportunities, ability to find innovative ways to connect with B2B buyers 
  • Strong technology acumen including CRM administration, marketing automation, survey and email campaign tools, search engine optimization, web design, Google analytics, etc. 
  • Understanding of logistics, supply chain management, warehousing, and transportation services.
