Position description:

Leads development of strategy and action plans to achieve business objectives, including targeted demand generation. Leads development, execution and measurement of strategic marketing initiatives. Manages and directs staff and budgets with full decision-making authority. Conducts annual planning and has a keen understanding of target audience needs and enterprise capabilities to develop marketing plans that achieve desired results. Oversees regional, national and/or international marketing activities. In this role, the director will develop and lead efforts across multiple sites, understanding differing needs based on geography and audience. Understands and contributes to the development of sound business, branding, market and financial strategies. Understands, tracks and reports on measurement and ROI of marketing initiatives.

Provides significant contributions to business planning efforts as a collaborative partner. Serves as a senior advisor on marketing strategy and advocates for consumers within the organization. Leads through influence; many times without direct authority. Collaborates extensively with other marketing and communications related disciplines to ensure coordination and positive results. Provides leadership, mentorship and career development to staff. Continuously learns and understands new marketing approaches including extensive knowledge of digital marketing practices and precise targeting. Identifies and vets new marketing opportunities and partnerships.

Evaluates plans to ensure progress toward business objectives and adapts plans as necessary to achieve superior outcomes. Manages interactions with agencies on various projects. Develops and manages budgets for assigned tasks. Partners with physicians and senior administrators to achieve marketing goals. Leads and handles complex tasks and requires strong project management skills.

Works Remotely 50% or more; business need requires employee to live within a reasonable driving distance of campus. Must live within commuting distance to the Rochester campus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience in marketing or a related field and three years of experience leading and managing high-performing teams. 
  • Master's degree preferred. 
  • Strong analytic capabilities and strategic planning skills needed.

Additional qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success and leadership of effective marketing strategy development and tactical implementation of broad-scale marketing initiatives, including competency in market intelligence, data analysis, creation of marketing approaches involving advertising on social media/digital/mobile channels. 
  • Demonstrated success in budget management. 
  • Ability to effectively build, lead and motivate teams of individuals with diverse skills and abilities. 
  • Proven ability to build successful, collaborative, cross-functional relationships with highest levels of physician and administrative leadership and lead high-performing teams including providing career development for team members. 
  • Must possess strong, analytical, oral and written communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and strategic judgment. 
  • Must possess political savvy and ability to function effectively in the face of ambiguity. 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork. 
  • Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and/or proprietary information. 
  • Ability to rally a team and consistently deliver positive results. 
  • Strong background, including digital marketing is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of product and go-to-market strategies is important. 
  • Experience with a major brand is helpful. 
  • Some travel is required.

Compensation Detail: $147,929.60 - $214,489.60 / year.
