Overview
The Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau, D.B.A. VISIT Milwaukee, is a private, non-profit corporation formed in 1967. As the main destination marketing organization (DMO) for the greater Milwaukee area, our primary goal is representing and promoting Greater Milwaukee as a premier destination for major conventions, corporate meetings, group tours, and business and leisure travelers. Our goal of increasing visitor and meeting generated revenue is achieved through sophisticated and integrated sales, services, marketing, and public relations programs geared to local, regional, national and international target markets. Through this process, VISIT Milwaukee is able to reach new and existing markets to increase visitors and economic impact to Greater Milwaukee.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing Strategy -
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual marketing plan and budget to support revenue objectives of the organization.
- Oversee implementation of marketing department programs in coordination with other departments.
- Facilitate and coordinate the annual organization-wide strategic plan in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Develop and execute all advertising and promotion activities and campaigns, including traditional and digital media.
- Develop a progressive and innovative digital strategy in coordination with agency, utilizing emerging technology, trends, and applications.
- Brand management - monitor VISIT Milwaukee brand for consistency and effectiveness across all channels of communication and through all company communications, internal and external.
- Monitor the department budget, including profit and loss analysis and forecast of department revenue drivers, as well as cost savings opportunities among marketing programs.
Research & Analytics -
- Develop and execute marketing research to include surveys, intercept studies, focus group, and demographic analysis.
- Utilize in-house, industry and paid research to monitor industry data and trends. Analyze results to make recommendations and to capitalize on market opportunities
- Develop and report metrics into usable marketing strategies for our staff, partners, and stakeholders. Monitor, track, and report the ROI of marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM for company web properties.
Digital Marketing & Database -
- Oversee the ongoing design, content, and architecture of organization web sites. Work with website vendor and internal team to create a comprehensive digital and website development strategy. Ensure content is timely, dynamic, and consistent with brand to ensure traffic growth.
- Proactively monitor success of digital campaigns and online advertising, adapting to market conditions, challenges and opportunities.
- Oversee database development to improve demographic information and to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing efforts.
- Collaborate with communications department to ensure social media integration with marketing strategies.
- Research and integrate new marketing technologies where appropriate to improve marketing effectiveness and/or reduce costs.
Co-ops And Sponsorships -
- Assess and implement co-operative marketing opportunities in coordination with industry partners to maximize ROI and cost-sharing.
- Develop and manage grant requests and the solicitation of strategic partners and sponsorships for other programs to enhance the marketing plan.
- Manage sponsorship contracts and IEG valuation.
Project and Vendor Management -
- Oversee marketing project management, including concept, scope, creative, timelines, vendor selection and budget.
- Direct web marketing and creative design staff and manage collaboration with other departments.
- Collaborate with ad agency on project management, ensuring maximum utilization of internal talent and creative as much as possible.
- Manage VISIT Milwaukee relationship with advertising/marketing agency to include creative direction, project coordination, media buys, and oversight of invoicing.
- Manage media sponsorships, media buys, and insertion orders not handled by agency.
