Cambria is seeking a Director, Public Relations and Corporate Communications to lead the company’s public relations across key stakeholder groups. This individual will be responsible for the corporate voice and communications strategy for earned, corporate media across consumer, partner and retail channels as well as internal audiences. They will lead and implement strategic planning, direction and execution of all public relations, public affairs, reputation management, and research and planning. They will provide thought leadership and also be responsible for tracking and documenting news, events and trends across the industry to inform strategy and other key stakeholders. This individual will help navigate societal issues with intent, including working on environmental and sustainability platforms. They will also help manage and shape the external "brand'' of our key team members across appropriate channels including media and speaking engagements.

The Director, Public Relations and Corporate Communications will be an outstanding writer with a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of public relations strategy, and a love of turning complex business and technology accomplishments into compelling and timely news. They will be self-motivated, proactive and eager to take ownership of their work and business they support. They will also be an inspiring team builder and hands-on leader as well as cross-functional collaborator across the company. This individual will coach and mentor staff to ensure quality product delivery and be actively involved to help get the work done.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement the strategic planning, direction, and execution of all public relations, and corporate communications for the organization. 
  • Define and execute the corporate narrative based on Cambria’s business goals. 
  • Collaborate closely with the product, marketing, internal communications and media relations team, to ensure all messaging is consistent with Cambria’s broader company voice and communications. 
  • Define the Cambria corporate news agenda and partner with subject matter experts across the company to uncover storytelling opportunities. 
  • Elevate key company and product milestones, preparing press releases, social media content and presentation decks. 
  • Provide up-to-date information about events and market trends affecting the company to support our long-term vision. 
  • Create processes, management Q&As, messaging scripts and playbooks to ensure efficiency in handling reactive PR issues across the team. 
  • Partner with Human Resources, functional leads and corporate counsel to manage internal employee communications, including managing town halls and internal company meetings. 
  • Manage external partners/firm(s) by providing compelling insights, pitch angles, and clear goals that align with business needs. 
  • Elevate the voice of Cambria’s executive team members through media interviews, speaking opportunities, and social media engagement. 
  • Provide strategic analysis of issues and determine appropriate proactive and reactive messaging to enhance the reputation of the organization and support the vision and direction. 
  • Build Cambria's reputation management strategy, keeping the plan up to date, and collaborating with internal stakeholders as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record developing and executing successful B2B and/or B2C corporate communications, content, and corporate brand campaigns. 
  • Extraordinary writing, storytelling and editing ability, with demonstrated experience harmonizing messages and distilling complex, technical concepts into simple communications. 
  • Experience applying data to measure results, test, learn, iterate and inform decision-making and strategy. 
  • Self-directed and able to work and lead proactively, coordinating stakeholder buy-in across teams. 
  • Ability to demonstrate company values in an on-going and consistent way. 
  • Ability to manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications issues with high judgment and professionalism. 
  • Ability to interact with senior leadership to influence strategy and mitigate risk around critical launches and product offerings. 
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator seeking to learn from her/his peers. 
  • Experience in the building industry is a plus. 
  • Ability to evolve and grow the role as this will evolve over time and changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years in public relations or corporate communications roles.
  • 3-5 years in a senior role leading and managing a communications team at a company and/or agency.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater, with a preferred focus on marketing, communications, or business.

Systems:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business systems.

Additional Requirements:

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for leading and developing communications and PR team over time.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% for planned events (interviews, conferences, meetings etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on site at Cambria’s offices in Eden Prairie.
