This highly creative position provides graphic design and production on multi-channel marketing projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Brand Manager creates and delivers marketing and communication materials with impact.

This position requires a strong conceptual thinker with a high level of creativity, detail orientation and a strong eye for design, layout, color and typography who contributes fresh ideas on projects from start to finish. The successful candidate can design with all media platforms in mind, including print, digital, social media and video. 

The right candidate is a self-starter who has demonstrated experience in providing graphic design and production on multi-channel marketing projects with keen attention to detail and deadlines; strong communication skills; and a proven ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven work environment.

This position is also responsible for managing DNR brand standards and guiding the use of the brand internally and externally.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the successful candidate will have the option to partially work remotely for an indefinite period of time upon hire. A laptop will be provided; however, a high-speed home internet connection will be essential for this position. It is expected that this person selected will work out of the assigned office location either in Madison or Milwaukee when not teleworking.

Required qualifications include professional work experience in ALL of the following:

  • Maintaining and enforcing brand standards 
  • Graphic and visual design, including defining design specifications for both print and digital projects 
  • Adobe Creative Suite, including experience in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator 

Best-qualified applicants will also have the following preferred qualifications:

  • Professional work experience coordinating and managing multiple design projects at one time 
  • Experience with designing for social media and/or video projects 
  • Professional photography experience 
  • Experience with PowerPoint and/or Canva

Starting pay is $32 - $35 per hour ($66,560 - $72,800 annually).

Pay on appointment for current or former state employees is based on the State Compensation Plan. Current State employees applying as a transfer applicant will require DPM approval for pay on transfer increases.

This position is classified as a Communications Specialist – Advanced in Pay Schedule/Range 07-03. A 12-month probationary period may be required.
