Email Marketing Product Owner
Southeast Wisconsin
West Bend, WI

Position Summary:

Do you have a strong attention to detail and exactness as well as an inquisitive drive to analyze information and data? Do you prefer to self analyze data and information, drawing down conclusions to develop mastery and expertise of information? This position requires a great deal of change with shifting priorities, deadlines, and/or goals. The ideal candidate will respond positively to unpredictable situations or problems that can occur throughout their work responsibilities.

The Email Marketing Product Owner is responsible for leading and owning their Technology strategy and execution for Salesforce Marketing Cloud, email, sms and marketing promotions. Primary owner of decisions, tasks, and prioritization. Oversees the Visual Designer, Email System Specialist, and SFMC Solution Architect. Works hand in hand with Marketing Managers to ensure email request priority and accuracy. Requires background in email marketing and comfort discussing technical issues.

This position will require you to be both a customer and organizational advocate, recommend tests and suggestions on creative/design iterations based on data, have a relentless drive and passion for the customer, and will roll up your sleeves to execute. This role will provide data-backed solutions to give voice and context to the customer experience including design, configuration, and testing activities on email marketing, member-facing platforms, member promotions and more.


  • Primary owner of all decisions for the email marketing technical team. Facilitate requirement gathering meetings, communicate complex business needs into clear, actionable email requirements. 
  • Work hand in hand with marketing managers to ensure email request accuracy. 
  • Requires background in email marketing and comfort discussing technical issues. 
  • Work with clients, business partners and technology partners to identify, define, interpret and clarify scope of problems/issues in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes 
  • Manage the email and promotional marketing team backlog, prioritization and ensure all deliverables are completed on time. 
  • Collaborate with Solutions Architect and other email contributors to create comprehensive and cohesive solution approaches. 
  • Document and maintain operational processes 
  • Articulate data requirements and data quality standards 
  • Oversees the work for the team - Visual Designer, Email System Specialist, and SFMC Solution Architect. 
  • Leads Quality Assurance strategy of email content 
  • Evaluate email metrics to report out on their performance and effectiveness 
  • Understand and analyze campaign data in order to modify campaign strategy 
  • Understand the journey creation process and be able to provide journey feedback 
  • Documenting and sharing lessons learned

Skills/Abilities and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree SFMC Email Specialist Certification preferred 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in email marketing strategy, including campaign strategy 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Salesforce 
  • Experience with Agile methodology and leading a Scrum team 
  • Minimum 4 of years experience in business process and/or requirements gathering 
  • Experience working in a business process team and coordinating process efforts 
  • Ability to perform efficiently within a high pressure, fast-paced environment 
  • Enterprise business solutioning experience for large corporations 
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of quality 
  • Be a self starter with the ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines 
  • Proven time management skills for deadline driven work 
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
