About the Role:

In this role on our Employee Communications team, you’ll partner with leaders across the company to create and execute strategic communication plans that incorporate written stories, video, live events, leadership messages, web content and social media, all in support of Morningstar’s exceptional employee experience. This hybrid position is based out of our Chicago office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation - Creative, integrated storytelling across enterprise programs like Enterprise Sustainability; Learning & Development; Total Rewards; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Facilities; and Information Technology, to name a few. 
  • Strategic Counsel - Provide business and functional leaders with guidance on effective employee communications approaches. 
  • Journalistic Approach - Actively seek stories from all parts of the organization to help foster understanding and interest in our business. 
  • News Item Coordination - Monitor the internal request system to ensure all content requests are acknowledged and completed, if needed, in a timely manager; coordinate request completion with other Corporate Communications team members if needed. 
  • Internal Event Support - Assist with day-of execution of all internal events; collaborate on the planning process when appropriate based on the event topic.
  • Bachelor's degree required (Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or English is preferred) 
  • 5 years of relevant experience in corporate communications 
  • Detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple events, projects, and requests at once 
  • Self-starter and passion for learning 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; the ability to present and communicate ideas clearly to resonate with colleagues at all levels 
  • Creativity and confidence to suggest new ideas 
  • Familiarity with AP Style
