Manage and oversee all of Medline's events/meetings (both internal and external), including: all customer meetings, promo meetings, manager meetings, national sales meeting, tradeshow breakfast events, advisory board meetings and Homecare forums for a sales force.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage budgets for all relevant events. Ensure all event invoices are received, allocated, resolved, and submitted to accounting in a timely matter.
  • Research and select venues for events. Negotiate contracts & rates for services needed for event. - Manage and oversee all logistics involved with event / meeting. (agenda, venue selection, flights, rooming, transportation, food, AV, communication, registration, etc.). Meet with HC and GL Marketing VP’s, Trade Show Coordinator and Sales to discuss meetings needs for scheduled events. Coordinate meetings with key corporate individuals, which include discussion of meeting dates, agendas, locations, logistics, etc. Ensure staff is communicating key meeting information to Medline and customers.
  • Meet with event team once a week to discuss check lists for upcoming events, ensure tasks are getting completed on-time, resolve any issues, and discuss any new events that may have fallen on the calendar
  • Maintain Medline Tradeshow and event calendar and update Mednet and Medline 360 weekly to ensure company always has the most up-to-date event calendar
  • Assist with PAC meetings, Collaborate to Innovate and tradeshows as needed.
  • Develop and mentor staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • At least 2 years experience in event planning or travel field.
  • Ability to communicate to and work with a high level audience.
  • Experience with and ability to negotiate.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
  • Willing to travel up to 30% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state). - Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
