The Waukesha County Business Alliance, Inc. is a private, member-driven organization that has been the voice of business since its founding in 1918 as the Waukesha Association of Commerce. Initially established to serve the Waukesha business community, the Alliance has evolved into a countywide chamber of commerce representing more than 1,100 member businesses and community organizations. Its mission is to drive economic growth in Waukesha County.

Position Details

Events & Programs Intern
Southeast Wisconsin
Waukesha, WI

Intern for a countywide chamber of commerce by helping organize and plan for member events and programs, while gaining real-world experience working with local businesses. This internship will be focused on supporting the Events & Programs team throughout the summer.

  • Updating event & program information in ChamberMaster database system 
  • Attend Alliance events & programs as able and assist with event & program logistics (specifically The Waukesha County Awards Gala, The BIG One golf outing, Business & Politics Networking, and 100th Annual Meeting) 
  • Assist with prep for events & programs including registration, packing and printing of upcoming events & programs materials, nametags and table tents 
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks during internship, primarily The BIG One golf outing 
  • Other duties as assigned
  • The Alliance is looking for a friendly, creative and motivated individual who is willing to help with the many facets of a business association and events & programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage time and deadlines
  • Interest in building business relationships
  • Pursuing a degree in event planning, business administration, public relations, marketing, communications, etc.

This is a paid internship, about 10-15 hours per week. The internship will run from beginning of June through September (specific start and end dates are flexible). Together, the Alliance and intern will determine mutual goals, as well as the best schedule and timeline for the candidate.
