SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The mission of the Marquette University High School’s Executive Assistant for the Principal & AP for Academics is to provide data administration, word processing, webpage management, and the coordination of various activities for the Principal & AP for Academics in their leadership and service of the mission of MUHS. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for Marquette University High School and a desire to make an impact on the future of the school.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the Principal’s calendar and schedule meetings as needed 
  • Prepare the weekly employee bulletin and send to all employees
  • Provide support to the Principal for all forms of communication from the Academic Office - memos, letters, surveys - internal and external
  • Assist the Principal with correspondence to the Board of Directors and board committees
  • Arrange for food, refreshments for all meetings as instructed by the Principal, and assist in the planning of employee events
  • Assist with the main office and instructional program budgets
  • Assist with the development of the annual school calendar
  • Schedule meetings and observations with faculty members as needed 
  • Oversee general operations of the main office
  • Coordinate the assignments of internal substitute teachers
  • Help with various projects for summer school
  • Assist faculty and other departments with catering needs
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of academic events 
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the principal

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Three to five years of office-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Suite software and database management software programs along with familiarity of working in an educational setting. This position requires independence, detail-orientation, initiative, along with strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

This position is supervised by the Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a 12-month position. It may require occasional evening/weekend hours to coordinate with the School’s activities. It requires frequent contact with others, repetitive motion, and some bending/lifting and requires the use of computer and office equipment.
