Role:

The role of the Executive Producer of CL Labs is to be the liaison to the agency producers, project managers and new business team from bidding through delivery. The EP will identify primary project goals and work with in-house agency resources for successful execution. They will also assist in identifying growth opportunities for CL Labs via incremental work or services that can be performed in-house.

Responsibilities include overseeing and maintain a smooth operation in CL Labs to ensure minimal interruption to the business, while maximizing quality product and communication throughout projects. This includes management of visual artists, schedules, freelancers, financial status, and collaborative management. A motivator and supporter of the visual artists and editors to ensure project goals, milestones and deliverables are achieved.

What You’ll Do:

Assessment, planning and implementation of process adjustments needed to ensure a streamlined and consistent experience for CL Labs and Agency personnel.

How best to generate and maintain revenue for CL Labs through client relationships, talent recruitment, and capabilities. This includes cultivating new in-house production opportunities and expanding the CL Labs network of outside production support.

Growth & Development of Talent

  • Recruiting top level talent that will enhance CL Labs appeal and capabilities. 
  • Working with Creative Lead on maintaining the skill sets of visual artists for content shoots and photography and assigning projects appropriately. 
  • Working with Lead Editor on maintaining the skill sets of editors and assigning projects appropriately. 
  • Working with and supporting visual artists and editors on consistency of creative output 
  • Identifying training needs to ensure visual artists and editors are set up for success.

Day To Day:

  • You are the main contact for all projects running through CL Labs, including assigning staff (visual artists and editors) to projects, and requesting/hiring freelance editors for additional project coverage. 
  • Create and maintain new processes, forms and organize how projects are assigned. 
  • Bidding projects and managing budgets, including communicating possible overages or timing delays to appropriate parties. Offer solutions to budgetary challenges while maintaining the integrity of the creative. 
  • Work with finance, producers, etc. to ensure billing is done in a manner that fits with the clients/agency needs. 
  • Maintain strong/positive client/agency relationships with clear and efficient verbal and written communication. 
  • Managing expectations and creatively solving problems on time, accurately with a high level of professionalism. 
  • Be a supportive leader to visual artists, editors and freelancers. 
  • Review rough cuts prior to delivery to ensure quality, accuracy and flag any corrections that need to be made before sending to agency producer or project manager. 
  • Support and collaborate with the CL Labs leads to ensure project consistency and accuracy. This includes assigning the appropriately skilled artists to projects that match their skill sets. 
  • Identifying growth opportunities and training opportunities. 
  • Manage external vendor relationships for project collaboration where needed. 
  • Create forecasts for future scaling or down periods for CL Labs 
  • Support and collaborate with the Head of Production in all aspects of CL Labs.

Required Skills:

What You’ve Done

  • 10+ years of experience in production/post-production, preferably in an agency setting or other industry related experience. 
  • Masterful understanding of production/post-production phases and their respective processes, with a flexible curious mind to help evolve and modernize production. 
  • Negotiated and managed various budgets for post-production. 
  • Worked well within dynamic teams and effectively collaborated with multiple personalities at various levels. 
  • Demonstrated clear communication skills – both written and verbal. 
  • Taken initiative to learn more about the industry, trends, and new media offerings driven by your insatiable curiosity.

Travel Requirements:

  • Right now, we are still working remotely. However, if you are not located in Minneapolis, there may be a future need for semi-regular travel to Minneapolis for training, meetings, CL Labs supervision, etc.
