POSITION SUMMARY:

The Foundation Annual Fund Coordinator will assist in the implementation of a comprehensive donor-centered annual giving program. This person will be responsible for the execution of numerous annual fund initiatives, including direct mail, reoccurring giving, e-communications, and other creative uses of technology to increase total annual donations and gift revenue. Will work with OSF employees, clinicians, grateful patients and families throughout the OSF Healthcare System.

The Foundation Annual Fund Coordinator will also help identify and cultivate relationships with current and potential donors, with the vision of growing these donors from entry level to major gifts. Additionally, this person will assist with the implementation of specific annual appeals such as corporate and employee giving campaigns and will review annual donor lists to identify major gift prospects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, law, or related field.

Experience:

  • 1 year of progressively more responsible related work experience, including public relations, communications, writing, or fund raising, necessary in order to gain knowledge of the operation of the fund raising activities, become familiar with department policies and procedures, and to plan, direct, and administer department activities.

Other Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of public relations, fund raising administration and marketing. 
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with individual donors and corporate organizations when soliciting financial support, with media contacts, Healthcare System personnel, and committees when coordinating fund raising activities, and work cooperatively with a variety of managers, executives and staff. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills. Persuasive writing that generates a call to action with successful results is critical to success. 
  • Analytical abilities necessary in order to prepare basic fund raising plans and evaluate results, respond to problems by identifying and implementing appropriate corrective action, develop and administer policies, procedures and budgets, and organize and oversee work of subordinates. 
  • Strong project management skills. 
  • Work requires valid Illinois State driver's license, reliable source of transportation and proof of vehicle insurance.
