BVK is looking for a highly skilled computer programmer who is comfortable with both front and back-end programming. Full stack developers are responsible for developing and designing front end web architecture, ensuring the responsiveness of applications, and working alongside graphic designers to bring web designs to life functionally, visually and interactively.

Full Stack Developer Responsibilities:

  • Develop front end website architecture, including translating designer mock-ups and wireframes into front-end code
  • Develop functional databases, applications, and servers to support websites on the back end
  • Ensure cross-platform optimization for desktop and mobile devices
  • Ensure responsiveness of applications
  • Develop and design RESTful services and APIs
  • Ensure all web pages and applications are accessible to WCAG 2.1 standards
  • Ensure that non-functional requirements such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability are being considered when architecting solutions
  • Keep abreast of new development tools and programming technique; participate in educational opportunities
  • Strategize organizational direction on emerging technology platforms and communicate the effectiveness to executive stakeholders

Full Stack Developer Requirements:

  • 5+ years of applicable experience; Degree in computer science preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Fluent in JavaScript (ES2015), HTML and CSS, with an understanding of CSS preprocessors including Sass and LESS
  • Proficiency in WordPress, PHP, AJAX, Composer and Guzzle HTTP
  • Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL and MariaDB
  • Experience working with server technologies including Ubuntu, Apache, PHP-FPM and Let's Encrypt
  • Light experience managing Google Cloud: Virtual Machines, Cloud SQL, Disk images and snapshots
  • Ability to accurately estimate project development (working with a project manager)
  • Clear verbal and written communication

Nice-to-have Experience:

  • Connecting to and ingesting external APIs 
  • OAuth 2.0. 
  • Salesforce REST API 
  • Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL) 
  • Bitbucket or GitHub remotes for deployment to WPEngine
  • Experience with DNS updates 
  • AWS Simple Email Service 
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented PHP 

Software (nice to have):

  • Adobe Photoshop 
  • Adobe XD 
  • TablePlus or phpMyAdmin 

WordPress specific:

  • Proper use of WordPress AJAX calls and WordPress form "nonce" field usage 
  • Advanced Custom Fields
