JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a proven and dynamic leader with a track record of effective fundraising meeting targeted goals to increase revenue towards the operation of the business. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement and will take the foundation of relationships and philanthropy that has been started over the last two years to develop and implement a fundraising plan with the goal of raising $1M in one year. This is a bold and audacious goal that accounts for only 1% of the organizations operating revenue and can be achieved with the right leader. This position will leverage our existing stakeholders, board members and supporters to develop and execute a robust plan that will meet the identified fundraising plan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will complete deep research on donor potential for our mission, both individual and corporate sponsorship to identify new donors for cultivation, access past ones and identify the link to their giving patterns. 
  • In partnership with executive management team, this position will facilitate engagement donors and determine which ones need further development with senior leaders and/or board members. 
  • This position will support the executive management’s relationships to leverage large gifts, annual appeals, and any and all event sponsorships and support. 
  • Develops the communication strategy, including social media, to create a culture of philanthropy that includes donor and volunteer engagement. 
  • This position will work with the SVP of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement to staff the development committee of the board, identify new potential board candidates focused on philanthropy and will support all annual development activities. 
  • Keeps current with all fundraising opportunities through participation in organizations e.g. forefront and other national leaders, new trends and educational opportunities. 
  • This position will work with the existing PT grant writer as needed for larger grant opportunities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communication, management or a related field in human/social service; Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of three to five years’ direct fundraising experience, including but not limited to capital campaigns, event planning, planned giving, major giving and individual donor development; healthcare or non-profit fundraising; and foundation grants.
  • Bring with them a network of past supporters and a strong understanding of how to keep them engaged with the mission of the organizations. 
  • Passion for the field of substance use disorder preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 10 – 20 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects such as files and other office materials. 
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively in person or by telephone in order to gather and exchange information and provide direction. 
  • Ability to type and proofread documentation. 
  • Ability to respond to telephone calls, emails, and hear speech. 
  • May be required to stoop and bend when handling computer equipment, troubleshooting system problems, etc. 
  • Ability to check and verify data and error messages from printed form and computer monitor display. 
  • Ability to use a keyboard and monitor display to enter, retrieve and/or audit information and data. 
  • Travel to meet external parties and coordinate events.
