We are seeking a Global Communications Manager to join our rapidly growing Interventional Urology business unit. This is a global role and will require working closely with regional and global partners across Coloplast to align enterprise messages that promote and celebrate progress, and educate employees about Coloplast’s purpose, strategy, and culture. In this position, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, and you'll be critical to building a narrative that delivers on our business objectives and furthers our mission of making life easier for people with intimate healthcare conditions. You will build strong business partner relationships to various stakeholders to innovate, support, and deploy communications efforts.

Job Function Summary:

Develop and implement innovative communications strategies to inform, influence, inspire and engage employees globally.

The Global Communications Manager for Interventional Urology develops and executes integrated communications strategies for key company priorities supporting global Interventional Urology growth ambitions. In this role, you'll drive prioritization, message development, and communications strategy with cross-functional colleagues in a global, matrixed organization.

Major Areas of Accountability:

Internal Communications

Keep employees connected, engaged, and informed by creating and driving strategy that helps to foster an inclusive 1-Coloplast spirit

  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans for complex enterprise-wide key initiatives and end-to-end change programs to support proactive and reactive communications needs 
  • Translate complex business topics into essential messages, understandable content, determining the right channels to deliver them, writing and editing communications, and developing presentations and videos. 
  • Source stories and develop creative content to illustrate and bring to life company culture and values, along with highlighting global IU progress to our ambitions 
  • Bring Sustainability to the communications and culture conversation, helping IU to meet our sustainability goals 
  • Acts as key liaison for senior leadership to translate our business strategy and brand elements into creative, inspiring, and compelling messaging and storytelling (ie newsletter content, organization announcements, letter from the President…) 
  • Manage internal events, i.e. Town Halls, general sessions for Sales Meetings, across regions 
  • Collaborate on special projects and change management initiatives as needed, including organization change, business acquisitions and integration, etc 
  • Develop best practices/KPIs to enable continuous improvement of the internal communications function, driving better employee engagement 
  • Develop and maintain a strong partnership with key stakeholders to align on priorities, gather valuable input on global initiatives and maintain a global view of planned activities to ensure consistency and coordination. 
  • Manage language translation needs.

Media and Industry Relations

Oversee external engagement opportunities for IU senior leadership 

  • Advise and coach senior leadership when engaging with external audiences, including the media, regulators, industry groups, etc 
  • Identify opportunities to position senior leadership with key external constituencies, including industry events, conferences, and media

Employer Brand

Proactively partner with local and global HR and communications colleagues to strengthen Coloplast employer brand 

  • Develop, manage, and execute a strategic, multi-channel strategy to create greater awareness of Coloplast as a great place to work ensuring alignment with corporate communications 
  • Design and implement employee engagement activities to foster a great place to work culture

Management

  • Participate in ongoing discussions about the future priorities of the global Corporate Communications team as a team member 
  • Actively collaborate with communications team members within the regions to ensure aligned messaging and activities, supporting local communications initiatives as needed.
  • Indirectly supervises others on communications-related projects 
  • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with a broad network of internal stakeholders, including local HR teams, regional communications leaders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, PR, journalism or related field; masters degree preferred 
  • 10+ years of experience working with communications at senior leadership/C-suite level preferably in medtech/pharma 
  • Exceptional and creative written, verbal, visual storytelling/communication skills and outstanding presentation skills with experience presenting to and consulting with senior leadership 
  • Confidence, poise, and ability to influence and build strong relationships with senior leaders, as well as all other levels of the company 
  • Expertise in translating business concepts into simple, compelling narratives via various tactics 
  • Proven skills as a strategic and thoughtful communications counsellor 
  • Ability to prioritize activities and deliverables and manage stakeholder expectations 
  • Proven ability and flexibility to work well in a strong, fast paced and changing environment 
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills 
  • Strategic, innovative and creative thinker who leverages curiosity to challenge the status quo, fostering unique and engaging approaches to communications 
  • Passion for leadership and change communication and I&D, people, and culture initiatives 
  • Enjoy interacting with different cultures and being part of a global company 
  • Resourceful, motivated, and able to independently prioritize shifting workloads in a high-growth, ever-changing environment.
